What it means
A short anti-violence-with-religion-cover abhang. Three accusations:
-
आणिकांच्या कापिती माना — निष्ठपणा पार नाहीं — cut others' necks — no end of cruelty. The violent-claimants. Cutting others' necks — literal violence in the religious-frame (perhaps: animal-sacrifice, oppressing other-traditions, social-violence in the name of religion). The cruelty has no end / no shore.
-
करिती बेटे उसणवारी — यमपुरी भोगावया — make borrowing-bonds — to enjoy yamapurī. The karma-borrowing. Uṣaṇa-vārī — borrowing-bonds, mutual-debt-arrangements. The implication: by participating in violence-cycles, they create karmic-borrowings between each other that they will jointly enjoy in yamapurī (death-city / hell). The violence-cycle is also a debt-cycle.
-
सेंदराचें दैवत केलें — नवस बोले तयासि — made the sēndara into a deity — vow spoken to it. The fake-deity-making. Sēndara is vermilion-paint used to anoint stones; the painted-stone becomes a "deity"; vows are made to it. The fake-deity is the receiver-of-vows. (Compare 244's of-the-deva while disrespecting-the-deva.)
-
Tuka says: the children dance — scratched, the body hurts. The closing-image is opaque but suggestive. Likely-readings:
- When the children dance (= when the fake-claimants perform their religious-show) — if anyone scratches (= challenges, examines, exposes), the body hurts (= the real-pain of the fake is exposed). The fake-show cannot withstand scrutiny.
- Or: the dancing is shallow; the slightest scratch reveals the underlying-pain.

For someone today
This abhang names a violence-religion combination that is real in any era:
-
Recognize violence-with-religion-cover. Āṇikāñcyā kāpitī mānā. When cutting others' necks (literal or figurative — oppressing, harming, scapegoating) is being done with religious-justification, recognize this as the violence-with-cover mode.
-
Violence creates karma-borrowings to be enjoyed in yamapurī. Karitī bēṭē uṣaṇa-vārī — yamapurī bhōgāvayā. Don't think the violence is one-sided; participants are mutually-borrowing-karma. The borrowing will be paid in yamapurī — jointly.
-
Watch for sēndara-deity* making. Sēndarācēm daivata kelē. When some object / person / role has been painted (= elevated by external-decoration) into a deity, and vows are being made to it — recognize this as fake-deity making. The real-deity is not made by sēndara-painting; the fake-claim of deity-status is what is created by it*.
-
Fake-shows hurt when scratched. Khōḍitām yērēm anga dukhē. The fake-show / fake-religion / fake-claim — cannot withstand scrutiny. The scratch (= challenge, examination, naming) reveals the underlying-pain. If your show / claim / form hurts when scratched, the form is fake.
For today: in any era, violence-with-religion-cover is real; fake-deities are made by sēndara-painting; participants mutually-borrow-karma. The test of fake-form is can it withstand scratch. Real-form remains; fake-form body-hurts.
-
Fake-shows scratched होताना hurt होतात. Fake-show / fake-religion / fake-claim — scrutiny withstand Scratch (= challenge, examination, naming) underlying-pain reveal करतो. तुमचा show / claim / form scratched होताना hurt होत असेल — form fake.
