What it means
A 3-verse canonical speech-discipline by Tukārām.
The fourfold-virtue of-speech: 1. Shubha-vachana (auspicious-speech) in-the-company-of-good-people 2. Dharma-nīta (dharma-method) for-speaking; kṣōbha (anger) achieves-no-good 3. Maryādā (limit, decorum) and veḷa-jñāna (time-knowledge) by-the-chatura 4. Bare-mau (good-and-soft) speech is-what-the-world-needs-much
This is a practical speech-ethics — useful for daily-bhakta-conduct. Compare-Tukārām's 2810-saints-list, 2854-householder-dharma.
