Abhanga 3377
The mind only rests when it has its object. Asking for the visible form is not crude — it is recognizing where the mind actually rests.
The verse
आकारवंत मूर्ति । जेव्हां देखेन मी दृष्टी ॥१॥
मग मी राहेन निवांत । ठेवूनियां तेथें चित्त ॥ध्रु.॥
श्रुति वाखाणिती । तैसा येसील प्रचिती ॥२॥
म्हणे तुकयाचा सेवक । उभा देखेन सन्मुख ॥३॥
Literal translation
Ākāravamta mūrti — jevhām dekhena mī drṣṭī — the formed mūrti — when I see (it) with the eye. Maga mī rāhena nivāmta — ṭhevūniyām tethe chitta — then I will stay peaceful — placing my chitta there. Śruti vākhāṇiti — taisā yesīla prachiti — the Śrutis praise (him) — such (an experience) will come as prachiti. Mhaṇe Tukayāchā sevaka — ubhā dekhena sanmukha — Tukā's sevaka says: I will see (him) standing in front.
What it means
NON-Tukārām: Kānhōbā signs as Tukayāchā sevaka (Tukā's servant) — same authorial-circle, different self-positioning (sevaka = servant rather than bamdhu = brother). The petition: give the formed-mūrti darśana — then the chitta will rest. The Śruti-promised prachiti (experience) will follow.
