muḷīm brahma nirākāra | tethem sphūrtirūpa ahamkāra |
to pamcabhūtāmcā vicāra | jñānadaśakīm bolilā
At root, Brahman is formless (*nirākāra*); there, *sphūrti-rūpa ahamkāra* arises; the consideration of the five elements was told in the jñāna-daśaka.
to ahamkāra vāyorūpa | tayāvarī tejācem svarūpa |
tayā tejācyā ādhārem āpa | āvarṇodaka dāṭalem
That ahamkāra is air-form; above it is the form of fire; supported by that fire, water fills as *āvaraṇodaka* (enveloping waters).
tayā āvarṇodakācyā ādhārem | dharā dharilī phaṇivarem |
varatī chapanna koṭī vistārem | vasumdharā he
On that āvaraṇodaka's support, earth was held by the *phaṇi-vara* (cosmic serpent); upon that, fifty-six crore extension — this Vasundharā.
iyevarī parigha sapta sāgara | madhya merū māhām thora |
aṣṭa digpāḷa to parivāra | amtarem veṣṭita rāhilā
On it the circumference of seven oceans; at the center, great mighty Meru; eight direction-rulers as retinue; remain surrounding within.
to suvarṇācā māhā merū | pṛthvīsa tayācā ādhāru |
cauruāsī sahasra vistāru | rumdī tayācī
That Meru of gold is supreme; the earth's support; eighty-four thousand in extent — its width.
umca tarī maryādevegaḷā | bhūmīmadhem sahasra soḷā |
tayā bhovatā veṣṭita pāḷā | lokāloka parvatācā
Height beyond measure; sixteen thousand [yojanas] into the earth; surrounded by a ring — of the Lokāloka mountain.
tayā ailikaḍe himācaḷa | jethem pāmḍava gaḷāle sakaḷa |
dharma āṇī tamāḷanīḷa | puḍhem gele
This side of that is Himācala; where all the Pāṇḍavas fell; Dharma and *Tamāla-nīla* (Kṛṣṇa) went on ahead.
jethem jāvayā mārga nāhīm | mārgī pasarale māhā ahī |
sitasukhem sukhāvale te hī | parvatarūpa bhāsatī
Where there is no path to go; on the path huge serpents spread out; those satisfied by cold-pleasure — they too appear as mountain-form.
tayā ailikaḍe sevaṭīm jāṇa | badrikāśrama badrinārāyaṇa |
tethem māhām tāpasī, nirvāṇa- | dehatyāgārtha jātī
On this side, at the end — know Badarikāśrama, Badri-Nārāyaṇa; there great ascetics go for *nirvāṇa* (death-renunciation).
tayā ailikaḍe badrikedāra | pāhona yetī lahānathora |
aisā hā avaghā vistāra | meruparvatācā
On this side, Badri-Kedāra; small and great come to see; such is the full extent of Meru-mountain.
tayā meruparvatāpāṭhārīm | tīna śrṛmge viṣamahārī |
parivārem rāhile tayāvarī | brahmā viṣṇu maheśa
On the plateau of Meru-mountain, three fearsome peaks; Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Maheśa with retinue remain on them.
brahmaśrṛmga to parvatācā | viṣṇuśrṛmga to margajācā |
śivaśrṛmga to sphaṭikācā | kaiḷāsa nāma tyācem
Brahma-peak is of [granite] mountain; Viṣṇu-peak is of *margaja* (emerald); Śiva-peak is of crystal — its name is Kailāsa.
vaikumṭha nāma viṣṇuśrṛmgācem | satyaloka nāma brahmaśrṛmgācem |
amarāvatī imdrācem | sthaḷa khālatem | 13 ||
tethem gaṇa gamdharva lokapāḷa | tetisa koṭī deva sakaḷa |
caudā loka, suvarṇācaḷa- | veṣṭita rāhile
Vaikuṇṭha is the name of Viṣṇu's peak; Satya-loka of Brahmā's; Amarāvatī is Indra's — location below. There gaṇas, gandharvas, loka-pālas; thirty-three crores of devas; the fourteen lokas surrounded by the golden mountain.
tethem kāmadhenūcīm khilāmrem | kalpatarūcīm banem apārem |
amṛtācīm sarovarem | ṭhāīm ṭhāīm ucambaḷatīm
There are herds of *kāma-dhenu*s; endless groves of *kalpa-taru*; lakes of amṛta — well up in many places.
tethem udamḍa cimtāmaṇī | hire parisāmciyām khāṇī |
tethem suvarṇamaye dharaṇī | lakhalakhāyamāna
There are abundant *cintāmaṇi*s; mines of diamonds and *parīsa* (philosopher's stone); there the earth is of gold — radiant.
parama ramaṇīye phāmkatī kiḷā | navvaratnāciyā pāṣāṇasiḷā |
tethem akhamḍa haruṣaveḷā | ānamdamaye
Supremely charming rays spread; stone-slabs of the nine jewels; there unbroken joy-times — full of bliss.
tethem amṛtāmcīm bhojanem | divya gamdhem divya sumanem |
aṣṭa nāyakā gamdharvagāyanem | niramtara
There are meals of amṛta; divine fragrances, divine flowers; songs of eight nāyikā gandharvas — continually.
tethem tāruṇya vosarenā | rogavyādhīhi asenā |
vṛdhāpya āṇī maraṇa yenā | kadākāḷīm
There youth does not decline; no diseases or ailments; old-age and death do not come — ever.
tethem yekāhūni yeka sumdara | tethem yekāhūni yeka catura |
dhīra udāra āṇī śūra | maryādevegaḷe
There, one beautiful beyond another; one clever beyond another; steady, generous, heroic — beyond boundary.
tethem divyadeha jyotirūpem | vidyulyatesārikhīm svarūpem |
tethem yeśa kīrti pratāpem | simā sāmḍilī
There divine bodies are light-forms; forms like lightning; there fame, glory, prowess exceed limit.
aisem tem svargabhuvana | sakaḷa devāmcem vastem sthāna |
tayām sthaḷācem mahimāna | bolije titukem thoḍem
Such is that heaven-bhuvana; the dwelling-place of all devas; the glory of that place — however much is said is little.
yethem jyā devācem bhajana karāvem | tethem te devalokīm rāhāvem |
svalokatā muktīcem jāṇāvem | lakṣaṇa aisem
Here, whichever deva is worshipped, one remains in that deva-loka; know the sign of *sālokatā-mukti* thus.
lokīm rāhāvem te svalokatā | samīpa asāvem te samīpatā |
svarūpaci vhāvem te svarūpatā- | tisarī muktī
Living in the loka is *sālokatā*; being near is *sāmīpya*; becoming the very form is *sārūpatā* — the third mukti.
devasvarūpa jālā dehī | śrīvatsa kaustubha lakṣmī nāhīm |
svarūpatecem lakṣaṇa pāhīm | aisem ase
In deva-form one has become an embodied-being; but lacks the Śrīvatsa, Kaustubha, Lakṣmī [marks of Viṣṇu]; the sign of *sārūpatā* is thus.
sukṛta āhe tom bhogitī | sukṛta saratāmca ḍhakalūna detī |
āpaṇa deva te asatī | jaise taise
As long as good-deeds last, they enjoy; when good-deeds run out, [they are] pushed off; the devas remain — as they are.
mhaṇauni tinī mukti nāsivamta | sāyojyamuktī te śāśvata |
tehi niropijela sāvacitta | aika ātām
Therefore three muktis are perishable; *sāyojya-mukti* is eternal; that too will be expounded attentively — hear now.
brahmāmḍa nāsela kalpāmtīm | parvatāsahita jaḷela kṣitī |
tevhām avagheca deva jātī | mām mukti kaimcyā tethem
The universe (brahmāṇḍa) perishes at *kalpānta*; earth along with mountains burns; then all devas depart — where then is the mukti-there?
tevhām nirguṇa paramātmā niścaḷa | nirguṇa bhaktī tehi acaḷa |
sāyojyamuktī te kevaḷa | jāṇije aisī
Then *nirguṇa Paramātmā* is unwavering; *nirguṇa-bhakti* also is immovable; *sāyojya-mukti* is only that — know thus.
nirguṇīm ananya asatām | teṇem hoye sāyojyatā |
sāyojyatā mhaṇije svarūpatā- | nirguṇa bhaktī
Being *ananya* in the *nirguṇa* — by that, *sāyojyatā* happens; *sāyojyatā* means *svarūpatā* — *nirguṇa-bhakti*.
Saguṇa-bhakti moves; nirguṇa-bhakti does not move; all this is clearly understood — when Sadguru is made.
