mhaṇauna asāvī dīrgha sūcanā | akhamḍa karāvī cāḷaṇā | puḍhīla hoṇāra anumānā | āṇūna soḍāvem
Therefore long-range signalling should be; constantly cāḷaṇā (sifting) should be done. / Bring the future-to-be into inference — let it go.
सुखी असतो खबर्दार । दुःखी होतो बेखबर । ऐसा हा लोकिक विचार । दिसतचि आहे
sukhī asato khabardāra | duḥkhī hoto bekhabara | aisā hā lokika vicāra | disataci āhe
The happy is alert; the sorrowful becomes unaware. / Such is the worldly consideration — seen openly.
म्हणौन सर्वसावधान । धन्य तयाचें महिमान । जनीं राखे समाधान । तोचि येक
mhaṇauna sarvasāvadhāna | dhanya tayācem mahimāna | janīm rākhe samādhāna | toci yeka
Therefore all-alert — blessed is his greatness. / Who preserves samādhāna among people — he alone is [it].
चाळणेचा आळस केला । तरी अवचिता पडेल घाला । ते वेळे सावरायाला । अवकाश कैंचा

If cāḷaṇā is done lazily — suddenly a blow falls. / Then for recovery — whence time?
म्हणौन दीर्घसूचनेचे लोक । त्यांचा पाहावा विवेक । लोकांकरिता लोक । शाहाणे होती
mhaṇauna dīrghasūcanece loka | tyāmcā pāhāvā viveka | lokāmkaritā loka | śāhāṇe hotī
Therefore long-range-signalling people — see their vivek. / By people, people — become wise.
परी ते शाहाणे वोळखावे । गुणवंताचे गुण घ्यावे । अवगुण देखोन सांडावे । जनामधें
parī te śāhāṇe voḷakhāve | guṇavamtāce guṇa ghyāve | avaguṇa dekhona sāmḍāve | janāmadhem
But those wise ones should be recognized; take the virtues of the virtuous. / Seeing the defects, leave — among the people.
मनुष्य पारखूं राहेना । आणि कोणाचें मन तोडीना । मनुष्यमात्र अनुमाना । आणून पाहे
manuṣya pārakhūm rāhenā | āṇi koṇācem mana toḍīnā | manuṣyamātra anumānā | āṇūna pāhe
He does not stop examining people; and he cuts no one's heart. / He brings every person — to inference — and sees.
दिसे सकळांस सारिखा । पाहातां विवेकी नेटका । कामी निकामी लोकां । बरें पाहे
dise sakaḷāmsa sārikhā | pāhātām vivekī neṭakā | kāmī nikāmī lokām | barem pāhe
He seems equal to all; on looking, a proper vivekī. / Useful and useless folk — he sees rightly.
