धन्य धन्य हा वायुदेव । याचा विचित्र स्वभाव ।
वायोकरितां सकळ जीव । वर्तती जनीं
dhanya dhanya hā vāyudeva | yācā vicitra svabhāva |
vāyokaritām sakaḷa jīva | vartatī janīm
Blessed is Vāyu-deva; his wondrous svabhāva; / by vāyu all jīvas — conduct among people.
वायोकरितां श्वासोश्वास । नाना विद्यांचा अभ्यास ।
वायोकरितां शरीरास । चळण घडे
vāyokaritām śvāsośvāsa | nānā vidyāmcā abhyāsa |
vāyokaritām śarīrāsa | caḷaṇa ghaḍe
By vāyu, breath; the practice of various vidyās; / by vāyu, body — motion occurs.
चळण वळण प्रासारण । निरोधन आणी आकोचन ।
प्राण अपान व्यान उदान । समान वायु
caḷaṇa vaḷaṇa prāsāraṇa | nirodhana āṇī ākocana |
prāṇa apāna vyāna udāna | samāna vāyu
Motion, bending, extension, restraint, and contraction; / prāṇa, apāna, vyāna, udāna, samāna — vāyus.
नाग कूर्म कर्कश वायो । देवदत्त धनंजयो।
ऐसे हे वायोचे स्वभावो । उदंड असती
nāga kūrma karkaśa vāyo | devadatta dhanamjayo |
aise he vāyoce svabhāvo | udamḍa asatī
Nāga, Kūrma, Karkaśa-vāyu; Devadatta, Dhanañjaya; / such are vāyu's svabhāvas — abundant.
वायो ब्रह्मांडीं प्रगटला । ब्रह्मांडदेवतांस पुरवला ।
तेथुनी पिंडी प्रगटला । नाना गुणें
vāyo brahmāmḍīm pragaṭalā | brahmāmḍadevatāmsa puravalā |
tethunī pimḍī pragaṭalā | nānā guṇem
Vāyu became manifest in brahmāṇḍa; reached brahmāṇḍa-devatās; / from there manifest in piṇḍa — by various guṇas.
स्वर्गलोकीं सकळ देव । तैसेचि पुरुषार्थी दानव ।
मृत्यलोकींचे मानव । विख्यात राजे
svargalokīm sakaḷa deva | taiseci puruṣārthī dānava |
mṛtyalokīmce mānava | vikhyāta rāje
In svarga-loka, all Devas; likewise, strong dānavas; / in mṛtyu-loka, mānavas — famous kings.
नरदेहीं नाना भेदे । अनंत भेदाचीं श्वापदें ।
वनचरें जळचरें आनंदें । क्रीडा करिती
naradehīm nānā bhede | anamta bhedācīm śvāpadem |
vanacarem jaḷacarem ānamdem | krīḍā karitī
In human body, various divisions; endless divisions of creatures; / forest-dwellers, water-dwellers, joyfully — play.
त्या समस्तांमधें वायु खेळे । खेचरकुळ अवघें चळे ।
उठती वन्हीचे उबाळे । वायोकरितां
tyā samastāmmadhem vāyu kheḷe | khecarakuḷa avaghem caḷe |
uṭhatī vanhīce ubāḷe | vāyokaritām
In all of these, vāyu plays; all sky-dwelling families move; / fire-flames rise — due to vāyu.
वायो मेघाचें भरण भरी। सवेंच पिटून परतें सारी ।
वायो ऐसा कारबरी । दुसरा नाहीं
vāyo meghācem bharaṇa bharī | savemca piṭūna paratem sārī |
vāyo aisā kārabarī | dusarā nāhīm
Vāyu fills the cloud's sheets; immediately beats and pushes aside; / such an operator as vāyu — there is no other.
परी ते आत्मयाची सत्ता । वर्ते शरीरीं तत्वता ।
परी व्यापकपणें या समर्था । तुळणा नाहीं
parī te ātmayācī sattā | varte śarīrīm tatvatā |
parī vyāpakapaṇem yā samarthā | tuḷaṇā nāhīm
Yet that is Ātman's authority; operates in body truly. / Yet in pervasion, to this Samartha — no comparison.
गिरीहून दाट फौजा । मेघ उठिले लोककाजा ।
गर्जगर्जों तडक विजा । वायोबळें
girīhūna dāṭa phaujā | megha uṭhile lokakājā |
garjagarjom taḍaka vijā | vāyobaḷem
Denser-than-mountain armies; clouds rose for people's sake; / roaring-roaring lightning flashes — by vāyu-power.
चंद्रसूर्य नक्षत्रमाळा । ग्रहमंडळें मेघमाळा ।
यें ब्रह्मांडीं नाना कळा । वायोकरितां
camdrasūrya nakṣatramāḷā | grahamamḍaḷem meghamāḷā |
yem brahmāmḍīm nānā kaḷā | vāyokaritām
Moon, sun, star-garlands; planet-groups, cloud-groups; / these in brahmāṇḍa's various arts — are due to vāyu.
येकवटलें तें निवडेना । कालवलें तें वेगळें होयेना ।
तैसें हे बेंचाड नाना । केवी कळे
yekavaṭalem tem nivaḍenā | kālavalem tem vegaḷem hoyenā |
taisem he bemcāḍa nānā | kevī kaḷe
The joined does not separate; the mixed does not come apart; / likewise these various blends — how to know?
वायो सुटे सरारां । असंभाव्य पडतीगारा ।
तैसे जीव हे नीरा- । सरिसे पडती
vāyo suṭe sarārām | asambhāvya paḍatīgārā |
taise jīva he nīrā- | sarise paḍatī
Vāyu bursts out roaring; inconceivably hail falls; / likewise jīvas — fall with the water.
वायुरूपें कमळकळा । तोचि आधार जळा ।
तया जळाच्या आधारें भूगोळा । शेषें धरिलें
vāyurūpem kamaḷakaḷā | toci ādhāra jaḷā |
tayā jaḷācyā ādhārem bhūgoḷā | śeṣem dharilem
Vāyu-form lotus-art; that is the support of water; / by that water's support earth-globe — is held by Śeṣa.
शेषास पवनाचा आहार । आहारें फुगे शरीर ।
तरी मग घेतला भार । भूमंडळाचा
śeṣāsa pavanācā āhāra | āhārem phuge śarīra |
tarī maga ghetalā bhāra | bhūmamḍaḷācā
Śeṣa has pavana (wind) for food; by food, body swells; / then it took the burden — of earth-globe.
माहांकूर्माचें शरीर भलें । नेणों ब्रह्मांड पालथें घातलें ।
येवढें शरीर तें राहिलें । वायोचेनी
māhāmkūrmācem śarīra bhalem | neṇom brahmāmḍa pālathem ghātalem |
yevaḍhem śarīra tem rāhilem | vāyocenī
Mahā-Kūrma's body is good; as if brahmāṇḍa overturned; / so vast a body remains — due to vāyu.
वाराहें आपुलें दंतीं । पृथ्वी धरिली होती ।
तयाची येवढी शक्ती । वायुबळें
vārāhem āpulem damtīm | pṛthvī dharilī hotī |
tayācī yevaḍhī śaktī | vāyubaḷem
Varāha on his tusk — has held the earth; / his such power — by vāyu-strength.
ब्रह्म विष्णु महेश्वर । चौथा आपण जगदेश्वर ।
वायोस्वरूप विचार । विवेकी जाणती
brahma viṣṇu maheśvara | cauthā āpaṇa jagadeśvara |
vāyosvarūpa vicāra | vivekī jāṇatī
Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Maheśvara — the fourth oneself Jagadeśvara; / vāyu-svarūpa — the consideration the vivekīs know.
तेतिस कोटी सुरवर । अठ्यासी सहस्र ऋषेश्वर ।
सिध योगी भारेंभार । वायोकरितां
tetisa koṭī suravara | aṭhyāsī sahasra ṛṣeśvara |
sidha yogī bhārembhāra | vāyokaritām
33 crore gods; 88 thousand ṛṣīśvaras; / siddhas, yogīs in abundance — due to vāyu.
नव कोटी कात्यायणी । छेपन कोटी च्यामुंडिणी ।
औट कोटी भूतखाणी । वायोरूपें
nava koṭī kātyāyaṇī | chepana koṭī cyāmumḍiṇī |
auṭa koṭī bhūtakhāṇī | vāyorūpem
9 crore Kātyāyaṇīs; 56 crore Cāmuṇḍīs; / 3.5 crore ghost-mines — in vāyu-form.
भूतें देवतें नाना शक्ती । वायोरूप त्यांच्या वेक्ती ।
नाना जीव नेणो किती । भूमंडळीं
bhūtem devatem nānā śaktī | vāyorūpa tyāmcyā vektī |
nānā jīva neṇo kitī | bhūmamḍaḷīm
Bhūtas, devatās, various śaktis — their bodies are vāyu-form; / various jīvas how many — on earth-globe.
पिंडीं ब्रह्मांडीं पुरवला । बाहेर कंचुकास गेला ।
सकळां ठाईं पुरवला । समर्थ वायु
pimḍīm brahmāmḍīm puravalā | bāhera kamcukāsa gelā |
sakaḷām ṭhāīm puravalā | samartha vāyu
Filled piṇḍa and brahmāṇḍa; went beyond to the sheath; / filled in every place — powerful vāyu.
ऐसा हा समर्थ पवन । हनुमंत जयाचा नंदन ।
रघुनाथस्मरणीं तनमन । हनुमंताचें
aisā hā samartha pavana | hanumamta jayācā namdana |
raghunāthasmaraṇīm tanamana | hanumamtācem
Such is this powerful pavana; Hanumanta is his son; / Hanumanta's body-mind — is in Raghunātha's smaraṇa.
हनुमंत वायोचा प्रसीध । पित्यापुत्रांस नाहीं भेद ।
म्हणोनि दोघेहि अभेद । पुरुषार्थविषीं
hanumamta vāyocā prasīdha | pityāputrāmsa nāhīm bheda |
mhaṇoni doghehi abheda | puruṣārthaviṣīm
Hanumanta is famous as Vāyu's [son]; between father-and-son, no bheda; / therefore both are abheda — in puruṣārtha.
हनुमंतास बोलिजे प्राणनाथ । येणें गुणें हा समर्थ ।
प्राणेंविण सकळ वेर्थ । होत जातें
hanumamtāsa bolije prāṇanātha | yeṇem guṇem hā samartha |
prāṇemviṇa sakaḷa vertha | hota jātem
Hanumanta is called Prāṇa-nātha; by this quality he is samartha. / Without prāṇa, all — becomes meaningless.
मागें मृत्य आला हनुमंता । तेव्हां वायो रोधला होता ।
सकळ देवांस आवस्ता । प्राणांत मांडलें
māgem mṛtya ālā hanumamtā | tevhām vāyo rodhalā hotā |
sakaḷa devāmsa āvastā | prāṇāmta māmḍalem
Earlier death came to Hanumanta; then vāyu was restrained; / to all devas the state — came to life-end.
देव सकळ मिळोन । केलें वायुचें स्तवन ।
वायो प्रसन्न होऊन । मोकळें केलें
deva sakaḷa miḷona | kelem vāyucem stavana |
vāyo prasanna hoūna | mokaḷem kelem
All devas joined; did the stavana of Vāyu; / Vāyu became pleased — released [them].
म्हणोनि प्रतपी थोर । हनुमंत ईश्वरी अवतार ।
यचा पुरुषार्थ सुरवर । पाहातचि राहिले
mhaṇoni pratapī thora | hanumamta īśvarī avatāra |
yacā puruṣārtha suravara | pāhātaci rāhile
Therefore, greatly brave — Hanumanta is an Īśvara-avatāra; / his puruṣārtha, the gods — stood watching.
देव कारागृहीं होते । हनुमंतें देखिलें अवचितें ।
संव्हार करूनी लंकेभोंवतें । विटंबून पाडिलें
deva kārāgṛhīm hote | hanumamtem dekhilem avacitem |
samvhāra karūnī lamkebhomvatem | viṭambūna pāḍilem
Gods were imprisoned; Hanumanta saw suddenly; / destroying around Lankā — he cast it into disorder.
उसिणें घेतलें देवांचें । मूळ शोधिलें राक्षसांचें ।
मोठें कौतुक पुछ्यकेताचें । आश्चर्य वाटे
usiṇem ghetalem devāmcem | mūḷa śodhilem rākṣasāmcem |
moṭhem kautuka puchyaketācem | āścarya vāṭe
Took back the devas' [favor]; searched the root of the rākṣasas; / a great wonder of the tailed-one (Hanumanta) — was astonishing.
रावण होता सिंह्यासनावरी । तेथें जाऊन ठोंसरे मारी ।
लंकेमधें निरोध करी । उदक कैचें
rāvaṇa hotā simhyāsanāvarī | tethem jāūna ṭhomsare mārī |
lamkemadhem nirodha karī | udaka kaicem
Rāvaṇa was on the throne; going there, delivered blows; / in Lankā — caused obstruction — whence water?
देवास आधार वाटला । मोठा पुरुषार्थ देखिला ।
मनामधें रघुनाथाला । करुणा करिती
devāsa ādhāra vāṭalā | moṭhā puruṣārtha dekhilā |
manāmadhem raghunāthālā | karuṇā karitī
Devas felt support; saw great puruṣārtha; / in the mind, to Raghunātha — they do karuṇā (supplication).
दैत्य आवघे संव्हारिले । देव तत्काळ सोडिले ।
प्राणीमात्र सुखी जाले । त्रयलोक्यवासी
daitya āvaghe samvhārile | deva tatkāḷa soḍile |
prāṇīmātra sukhī jāle | trayalokyavāsī
All demons were destroyed; Devas were instantly released; / every creature became happy — the three-world-dwellers.
