लोक भजनी स्तवन करिती । आत्मयाचें
namūm gaṇapatī mamgaḷamūrtī | jayāceni matisphūrtī |
loka bhajanī stavana karitī | ātmayācem
We salute Gaṇapati, Mangala-mūrti; by whose mati-sphūrti / people in bhajana do stavana — of Ātmā.
नमूं वैखरी वागेश्वरी । अभ्यांतरीं प्रकाश करी ।
नाना भरोवरी विवरी । नाना विद्या
namūm vaikharī vāgeśvarī | abhyāmtarīm prakāśa karī |
nānā bharovarī vivarī | nānā vidyā
We salute Vaikharī, Vāgeśvarī; makes interior bright; / examines various expansions — various vidyās.
सकळ जनांमधें नाम । रामनाम उत्तमोत्तम ।
श्रम जाउनी विश्राम । चंद्रमौळी पावला
sakaḷa janāmmadhem nāma | rāmanāma uttamottama |
śrama jāunī viśrāma | camdramauḷī pāvalā
Among all people, the Name — Rāma-nāma is supreme; / with labor-gone and rest — Candra-mauḷi attained.
नामाचा महिमा थोर । रूप कैसें उत्तरोत्तर ।
परात्पर परमेश्वर । त्रयलोक्यधर्ता
nāmācā mahimā thora | rūpa kaisem uttarottara |
parātpara parameśvara | trayalokyadhartā
Name's greatness is great; what is the rūpa successively? / Parātpara, Parameśvara — Trailokya-dharā.
आत्माराम चहुंकडे । लोक वावडे जिकडे तिकडे ।
देहे पडे मृत्य घडे । आत्मयाविण
ātmārāma cahumkaḍe | loka vāvaḍe jikaḍe tikaḍe |
dehe paḍe mṛtya ghaḍe | ātmayāviṇa
Ātmā-Rāma on every side; people roam wherever; / body falls, death occurs — without Ātmā.
जीवात्मा शिवात्मा परमात्मा । जगदात्मा विश्वात्मा गुप्तात्मा ।
आत्मा अंतरत्मा सूक्ष्मात्मा । देवदानवमानवीं
jīvātmā śivātmā paramātmā | jagadātmā viśvātmā guptātmā |
ātmā amtaratmā sūkṣmātmā | devadānavamānavīm
Jīvātmā, Śivātmā, Paramātmā; Jagadātmā, Viśvātmā, Guptātmā; / Ātmā, Antarātmā, Sūkṣmātmā — in Deva-dānava-mānava.
सकळ मार्ग चालती बोलती । अवतारपंगतीची गती ।
आत्म्याकरितां होत जाती । ब्रह्मादिक
sakaḷa mārga cālatī bolatī | avatārapamgatīcī gatī |
ātmyākaritām hota jātī | brahmādika
All paths move, speak; motion of avatāra-sequences; / on account of Ātmā happen-and-go — Brahmā-etc.
नादरूप जोतीरूप । साक्षरूप सत्तारूप ।
चैतन्यरूप सस्वरूप । द्रष्टारूप जाणिजे
nādarūpa jotīrūpa | sākṣarūpa sattārūpa |
caitanyarūpa sasvarūpa | draṣṭārūpa jāṇije
Nāda-form, jyoti-form; sākṣī-form, sattā-form; / caitanya-form, sva-svarūpa; dṛṣṭā-form — know.
नरोत्तमु विरोत्तमु । पुरुषोत्तमु रघोत्तमु ।
सर्वोत्तमु उत्तमोत्तमु । त्रयलोक्यवासी
narottamu virottamu | puruṣottamu raghottamu |
sarvottamu uttamottamu | trayalokyavāsī
Narottama, Vīrottama; Puruṣottama, Raghottama; / Sarvottama, Uttamottama — three-world-dwellers.
नाना खतपट आणी चटपट । नाना लटपट आणि झटपट ।
आत्मा नसतां सर्व सपाट । चहुंकडे
nānā khatapaṭa āṇī caṭapaṭa | nānā laṭapaṭa āṇi jhaṭapaṭa |
ātmā nasatām sarva sapāṭa | cahumkaḍe
Various intrigues, commotions; various patter and scurry; / without Ātmā, all flat — on every side.
आत्म्याविण वेडें कुडें । अत्म्याविण मडें बापुडें ।
आत्म्याविण थडें रोकडें । शरीराचें
ātmyāviṇa veḍem kuḍem | atmyāviṇa maḍem bāpuḍem |
ātmyāviṇa thaḍem rokaḍem | śarīrācem
Without Ātmā, a fool-figure; without Ātmā, a wretched corpse; / without Ātmā, the edge — of the body.
आत्मज्ञानी समजे मनीं । पाहे जनी आत्मयालागुनी ।
भुवनी अथवा त्रिभुवनीं । अत्म्याविणें वोस
ātmajñānī samaje manīm | pāhe janī ātmayālāgunī |
bhuvanī athavā tribhuvanīm | atmyāviṇem vosa
The ātma-jñānī understands in mind; among people sees for the Ātmā; / in bhuvana or three-bhuvanas — without Ātmā, desolate.
परम सुंदर आणि चतुर । जाणे सकळ सारासार ।
आत्म्याविण अंधकार । उभय लोकीं
parama sumdara āṇi catura | jāṇe sakaḷa sārāsāra |
ātmyāviṇa amdhakāra | ubhaya lokīm
Supremely beautiful and clever; knows all sāra-asāra; / without Ātmā, darkness — in both worlds.
सर्वांगीं सिध सावध । नाना भेद नाना वेध ।
नाना खेद आणी आनंद । तेणेंचिकरितां
sarvāmgīm sidha sāvadha | nānā bheda nānā vedha |
nānā kheda āṇī ānamda | teṇemcikaritām
Accomplished and alert in every limb; various divisions, various penetrations; / various sorrows and joys — due to him.
रंक अथवा ब्रह्मादिक । येकचि चालवी अनेक ।
पाहावा नित्यानित्यविवेक । कोण्हियेकें
ramka athavā brahmādika | yekaci cālavī aneka |
pāhāvā nityānityaviveka | koṇhiyekem
Beggar or Brahmā-etc., one operates many; / should be seen nitya-anitya-vivek — by someone.
ज्याचे घरी पद्मिणी नारी । आत्मा तंवरी आवडी धरी ।
आत्मा गेलियां शरीरीं । तेज कैचें
jyāce gharī padmiṇī nārī | ātmā tamvarī āvaḍī dharī |
ātmā geliyām śarīrīm | teja kaicem
In whose home is a Padminī-wife — till Ātmā is there he loves; / if Ātmā leaves body — whence the luster?
आत्मा दिसेना ना भासेना । बाह्याकारें अनुमानेना ।
नाना मनाच्या कल्पना । आत्मयाचेनी
ātmā disenā nā bhāsenā | bāhyākārem anumānenā |
nānā manācyā kalpanā | ātmayācenī
Ātmā does not appear, does not seem; by external form not inferred; / various kalpanās of mind — due to Ātmā.
आत्मा शरीरीं वास्तव्य करी । अवघें ब्रह्मांड विवरी भरी ।
वासना भावना परोपरीं । किती म्हणोनी सांगाव्या
ātmā śarīrīm vāstavya karī | avaghem brahmāmḍa vivarī bharī |
vāsanā bhāvanā paroparīm | kitī mhaṇonī sāmgāvyā
Ātmā dwells in body; fills the whole brahmāṇḍa by examining; / vāsanās, bhāvanās in many ways — how to tell?
मनाच्या अनंत वृत्ती । अनंत कल्पना धरिती ।
अनंत प्राणी सांगो किती । अंतर त्यांचें
manācyā anamta vṛttī | anamta kalpanā dharitī |
anamta prāṇī sāmgo kitī | amtara tyāmcem
Endless vṛttis of mind; hold endless kalpanās; / endless creatures — how much to tell of their interior?
अनंत राजकारणें धरणें । कुबुधी सुबुधी विवरणें ।
कळों नेदणें चुकावणें । प्राणीमात्रासी
anamta rājakāraṇem dharaṇem | kubudhī subudhī vivaraṇem |
kaḷom nedaṇem cukāvaṇem | prāṇīmātrāsī
Hold endless rāja-kāraṇas; examine bad-and-good intellect; / not letting-it-be-known, escaping — from every creature.
येकास येक जपती टपती । येकास येक खपती लपती ।
शत्रुपणाची स्थिती गती । चहुंकडे
yekāsa yeka japatī ṭapatī | yekāsa yeka khapatī lapatī |
śatrupaṇācī sthitī gatī | cahumkaḍe
One chants, watches another; one toils-and-hides; / the state-course of enmity — on all sides.
पृथ्वीमधें परोपरीं । येकास येक सिंतरी ।
कित्तेक भक्त परोपरीं । परोपकार करिती
pṛthvīmadhem paroparīm | yekāsa yeka simtarī |
kitteka bhakta paroparīm | paropakāra karitī
On earth in various ways — one deceives another; / several bhaktas in various ways — do paropakāra (benevolence).
येक आत्मा अनंत भेद । देहेपरत्वें घेती स्वाद ।
आत्मा ठाईंचा अभेद । भेद हि धरी
yeka ātmā anamta bheda | deheparatvem ghetī svāda |
ātmā ṭhāīmcā abheda | bheda hi dharī
One Ātmā, endless divisions; per-body takes flavor; / Ātmā is originally abheda — yet holds bheda.
पुरुषास स्त्री पाहिजे । स्त्रीस पुरुष पाहिजे ।
नवरीस नवरी पाहिजे । हें तों घडेना
puruṣāsa strī pāhije | strīsa puruṣa pāhije |
navarīsa navarī pāhije | hem tom ghaḍenā
Man needs woman; woman needs man; / bride-for-bride needed — this does not happen.
पुरुषाचा जीव स्त्रीयांची जीवी । ऐसी नाहीं उठाठेवी ।
विषयसुखाची गोवी । तेथें भेद आहे
puruṣācā jīva strīyāmcī jīvī | aisī nāhīm uṭhāṭhevī |
viṣayasukhācī govī | tethem bheda āhe
Man's jīva, woman's jīvī — there is no [other] fuss; / the entanglement of viṣaya-sukha — there is bheda.
ज्या प्राण्यास जो आहार । तेथेंचि होती तत्पर ।
पशूचे आहारीं नर । अनादरें वर्तती
jyā prāṇyāsa jo āhāra | tethemci hotī tatpara |
paśūce āhārīm nara | anādarem vartatī
Whatever food the creature has, there it becomes eager; / man with the food of beasts — acts disrespectfully.
आहारभेद देहेभेद । गुप्त प्रगट उदंड भेद ।
तैसाचि जाणावा आनंद । वेगळाला
āhārabheda dehebheda | gupta pragaṭa udamḍa bheda |
taisāci jāṇāvā ānamda | vegaḷālā
Food-bheda, body-bheda; hidden-manifest abundant bheda; / likewise know ānanda — separate.
सिंधु भूगर्भींचीं नीरें । त्या नीरामधील शरीरें ।
आवर्णोदकाचीं जळचरें । अत्यंत मोठी
simdhu bhūgarbhīmcīm nīrem | tyā nīrāmadhīla śarīrem |
āvarṇodakācīm jaḷacarem | atyamta moṭhī
Ocean, earth-womb waters; bodies within those waters; / water-creatures of āvarṇodaka — extremely great.
सूक्ष्म दृष्टीं आणितां मना । शरीराचा अंत लागेना ।
मा तो अंतरात्मा अनुमाना । कैसा येतो
sūkṣma dṛṣṭīm āṇitām manā | śarīrācā amta lāgenā |
mā to amtarātmā anumānā | kaisā yeto
Bringing sūkṣma-view to mind, body's end is not found; / so the Antarātmā to inference — how comes?
देह्यात्मयोग शोधून पाहिला । तेणें कांहीं अनुमानला ।
स्थूळसूक्ष्माचा गलबला । गथागोवी
dehyātmayoga śodhūna pāhilā | teṇem kāmhīm anumānalā |
sthūḷasūkṣmācā galabalā | gathāgovī
Body-Ātmā-yoga searched; by that some was inferred; / commotion of sthūla-sūkṣma — is tangled.
गथागोवी उगवाव्याकारणें । केलीं नाना निरूपणें ।
अंतरात्मा कृपाळुपणें । बहुतां मुखें बोलिला
gathāgovī ugavāvyākāraṇem | kelīm nānā nirūpaṇem |
amtarātmā kṛpāḷupaṇem | bahutām mukhem bolilā
To untangle — various nirūpaṇas were made; / the Antarātmā with mercy — spoke through many mouths.
