The verse
Literal translation
English: Do kṛpā, deva — show me the sācē. How are you dayā-vanta — (your) kīrti abides in the jaga. Seeing with the ḍoḷē — (in) the hāta, kāḷa pulled. Tuka says: deva — make my kuṭhāvā.

What it means
A short petition-for-genuine-arrival abhang. Three claims:
-
कृपा करुनी देवा — मज साच तें दाखवा — do kṛpā, deva — show me the sācē. The opening-petition. Sācē — genuine, real, true. Show me the genuine. The bhakta is not asking for material-gain or specific-outcome; he is asking for the genuine to be revealed. (Compare 297's prema-priority over offering-quality; same orientation.)
-
तुम्ही दयावंत कैसे — कीर्ति जगामाजी वसे — how are you dayā-vanta — your kīrti abides in the world. The invocation. You are dayā-vanta (compassion-having); your reputation lives in the jaga. The bhakta invokes the deity's reputation as the basis for the petition. (Don't make me a kīrti-falsifying example; your own kīrti depends on this petition's fulfillment.)
-
पाहोनियां डोळां — हातीं ओढवाल काळा — seeing with the eyes — kāḷa pulled by hand. Reading: if I'm not shown the sācē, I will be pulled-by-the-hand by kāḷa (death/time) — even as the dayā-vanta deva watches with eyes. The urgency: kāḷa is approaching; show me the sācē before it pulls me away. (Pāhonīyām ḍoḷām — while you watch with eyes; hātīm oḍhavāla kāḷā — kāḷa will pull / haul me away by the hand.)
-
तुका म्हणे देवा — माझा करावा कुठावा — Tuka says: deva — make my kuṭhāvā. The closing-petition. Kuṭhāvā — place, abode, footprint, spot — make it for me. Make me a place (= give me a footprint, an abode, an established-spot at your feet). (Compare 173's catch him at-the-place; 264's redefining-kin-by-bhakti.)

For someone today
This is a short, urgent petition abhang:
-
Petition for the sācē*, not for outcomes. Maja sācē tē dākhavā. The bhakta's highest-petition is show me the genuine. Not give me wealth, give me deliverance from circumstance, give me siddhi — but show me the genuine. (The genuine-revelation is sufficient*; everything else follows or is irrelevant.)
-
Invoke the deity's reputation. Dayā-vanta — kīrti jagāmājhī vasē. The deity's reputation as dayā-vanta lives in the world; the bhakta invokes this reputation to anchor the petition. Your own reputation depends on this granting. (This is honest theological-leverage: the deity's kīrti-in-the-jaga is real and held; the bhakta invokes that.)
-
Urgency: kāḷa pulls by hand even as you watch. Pāhonīyām ḍoḷām — hātīm oḍhavāla kāḷā. Time is short; kāḷa is approaching; the deva watches but kāḷa pulls. The urgency-frame is honest: the deity's watching does not by itself stop kāḷa; active-grace must intervene.
-
Make me a kuṭhāvā. Mājhā karāvā kuṭhāvā. The closing-form: give me an abode at your feet, a footprint that is mine, an established-spot. (This is not material-place; it is relational-place — a permanent-position-in-relation-to-the-deity.)
For today: let your highest-petition be for the genuine, not outcomes; invoke the deity's reputation honestly; recognize the urgency-frame (kāḷa-approaches even-as deity-watches); ask for a kuṭhāvā at the deity's feet.
This abhang is important for the petition-form: it gives the highest-form of bhakti-petition — not for things, but for the genuine and for a place at the feet.
Time short; kāḷa approaching;
Where this applies
- Petition for the sācē, not outcomes.
- Invoke deity's reputation as theological-leverage. Kīrti in the jaga.
- Urgency: kāḷa pulls even as deity watches. Active-grace needed.
- Kuṭhāvā at the feet. Relational-place petition.
