Tukārām's encouragement. Don't make timidity — Nārāyaṇa stands ready. (He) has made the shore of bhava-sindhu — (he) must be called. The step spent on this direction — then what obstacles? (He) does not say true-false, big-small. The verse permits the bhakti-encouragement of non-discriminating Nārāyaṇa-readiness.
The verse
Literal translation
Na kari tyāñce gāṇḍhepaṇa — don't make gāṇḍhepaṇa; Nārāyaṇa sadya ubhā — Nārāyaṇa stands ready. Bhavasindhūñcā thaḍavā kelā — (he) has made the shore of bhavasindhu; bōlāvilā pāhije — (he) must be called. Yāñce sōīm pāula veche — the step spent on this direction; maga kaiche āḍathaḷe — then what obstacles. Tukā mhaṇe khare khōṭe — Tukā says: true-false; na mhaṇe mōṭe lahāna — doesn't say big-small.
What it means
A short 3-verse encouragement by Tukārām.
The claim: Don't-be-timid; Nārāyaṇa-stands-ready. He-has-made-the-shore of-bhava-sindhu — call-him. Step-on-this-direction → no-obstacles. He-doesn't-say-true-false-big-small.
The non-discriminating-claim is striking: Nārāyaṇa accepts-all without-judging true-false-big-small status. The bhakta needs-only-call.
