Tukārām's sādhana-order: renounce-objects first, then rules; the mind's peace is the gift.
The verse
मुख्य आधीं विषयत्याग । विधिभाग पाळणें ॥१॥
मन पावे समाधान । हें चि दान देवाचें ॥ध्रु.॥
उदासीन वृत्ति देहीं । चाड नाहीं पाळणें ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे नाहीं भय । सम सोय विषमाची ॥३॥
Literal translation
Mukhya ādhīm viṣaya-tyāga — foremost-first viṣaya-tyāga; vidhi-bhāga pāḷaṇē — (then the) vidhi-bhāga is to be pāḷaṇē. Mana pāve samādhāna — mana attains samādhāna; he chi dāna Devāñce — this is the dāna of Deva. Udāsīna vrtti dehīm — udāsīna vrtti in the deha; chāḍa nāhī pāḷaṇē — no chāḍa for pāḷaṇē. Tukā mhaṇe nāhī bhaya — Tukā says: no bhaya; sama sōya viṣamāñcī — sama-sōya of viṣamas.
What it means
A 3-verse sādhana-order text. First viṣaya-tyāga, then vidhi-pāḷaṇa. Mana-samādhāna is Deva's-dāna. Udāsīna-vrtti means no-craving-for-mere-observance. No-fear — all-viṣamas (uneven-things) become sama (level).
