Abhanga 4332

Tukārām testifies: the ignorance-body falls when consciousness rests in true-form; an inner flame is the witness.

Tukārām's canonical ajñāna-body-dissolves-in-svarūpa; chitta-rests-in-svarūpa realization text

The verse

Literal translation

Ajñāna hā deha svarūpīm mīnalā — sarva vosāvalā dehapāta: the ajñāna-body merged in svarūpa — all rested; deha-falls. Jñāna-svarūpāchī sāngaḍa miḷālī — antarīm pāhilī jñāna-jyōtī: the union of jñāna-svarūpa arrived — within, the jñāna-jyōti seen. Tukā mhaṇe chitta svarūpīm rāhile — deha visāvale tujhyā pāyīm: Tukā says: chitta stayed in svarūpa — the deha rested at your feet.

What it means

A compact 3-verse realization-statement. The ignorance-body merges into svarūpa; inner jñāna-jyōti is seen; chitta rests in svarūpa, the body rests at the Lord's feet.
