ब्रह्म घन आणि पोकळ । आकाशाहून विशाळ ।
निर्मळ आणि निश्चळ । निर्विकारी
brahma ghana āṇi pokaḷa | ākāśāhūna viśāḷa |
nirmaḷa āṇi niścaḷa | nirvikārī
Brahma is dense and hollow; vaster than the sky; / nirmala and niścala — nirvikārī.
ऐसेंचि असतां कित्येक काळ । तेथें आरंभला भूगोळ ।
तया भूगोळांचे मूळ । सावध ऐका
aisemci asatām kityeka kāḷa | tethem ārambhalā bhūgoḷa |
tayā bhūgoḷāmce mūḷa | sāvadha aikā
Being so for a long time, there the bhū-gola was begun. / The root of that bhū-gola — alertly hear.
परब्रह्म असतां निश्चळ । तेथें संकल्प उठिला चंचळ ।
तयास बोलिजे केवळ । आदिनारायेण
parabrahma asatām niścaḷa | tethem samkalpa uṭhilā camcaḷa |
tayāsa bolije kevaḷa | ādinārāyeṇa
Para-brahma being niścala, there samkalpa arose — cañcala. / That is called — purely — Ādi-Nārāyaṇa.
मूळमाया जगदेश्वर । त्यासीच म्हणिजे शड्गुणैश्वर ।
अष्टधा प्रकृतीचा विचार । तेथें पाहा
mūḷamāyā jagadeśvara | tyāsīca mhaṇije śaḍguṇaiśvara |
aṣṭadhā prakṛtīcā vicāra | tethem pāhā
Mūla-māyā is jagadeśvara; he alone is called ṣaḍ-guṇa-īśvara. / The consideration of aṣṭadhā-prakṛti — see there.
ऐलिकडे गुणक्षोभिणी । तेथें जन्म घेतला त्रिगुणीं ।
मूळ वोंकाराची मांडणी । तेथून जाणावी
ailikaḍe guṇakṣobhiṇī | tethem janma ghetalā triguṇīm |
mūḷa vomkārācī māmḍaṇī | tethūna jāṇāvī
On this side is guṇa-kṣobhiṇī; there the tri-guṇa took birth. / The arrangement of mūla-omkāra — should be known from there.
अकर उकार मकार । तिनी मिळोन वोंकार ।
पुढें पंचभूतांचा विस्तार । विस्तारला
akara ukāra makāra | tinī miḷona vomkāra |
puḍhem pamcabhūtāmcā vistāra | vistāralā
A, U, M — the three joined as omkāra. / Ahead the pañca-bhūta expansion — was expanded.
आकाश म्हणिजेतें अंतरात्म्यासी । तयापासून जन्म वायोसी ।
वायोपासून तेजासी । जन्म जाला
ākāśa mhaṇijetem amtarātmyāsī | tayāpāsūna janma vāyosī |
vāyopāsūna tejāsī | janma jālā
Ākāśa means the Antarātmā; from him, birth of vāyu; / from vāyu, birth of tejas — arose.
वायोचा कातरा घसवटे । तेणें उष्णें वन्हि पेटे ।
सूर्यबिंब तें प्रगटे । तये ठाईं
vāyocā kātarā ghasavaṭe | teṇem uṣṇem vanhi peṭe |
sūryabimba tem pragaṭe | taye ṭhāīm
Vāyu's friction frictions on; by that heat, vahni ignites. / The sun-orb is manifest — in that place.
वारा वाजतो सीतळ । तेथें निर्माण जालें जळ ।
तें जळ आळोन भूगोळ । निर्माण जाला
vārā vājato sītaḷa | tethem nirmāṇa jālem jaḷa |
tem jaḷa āḷona bhūgoḷa | nirmāṇa jālā
The wind blows cool; there water is created. / That water congealing — the bhū-gola was created.
त्याअ भूगोळाचे पोटीं । अनंत बीजांचिया कोटी ।
पृथ्वी पाण्या होता भेटी । अंकुर निघती
tyāa bhūgoḷāce poṭīm | anamta bījāmciyā koṭī |
pṛthvī pāṇyā hotā bheṭī | amkura nighatī
In the womb of that bhū-gola — crores of endless seeds. / When earth and water meet — sprouts emerge.
पृथ्वी वल्ली नाना रंग । पत्रें पुष्पांचे तरंग ।
नाना स्वाद ते मग । फळें जाली
pṛthvī vallī nānā ramga | patrem puṣpāmce taramga |
nānā svāda te maga | phaḷem jālī
Earth's vines of various colours; waves of leaves-flowers; / various flavours — then fruits appeared.
पत्रें पुष्पें फळें मुळें । नाना वर्ण नाना रसाळें।
नाना धान्यें अन्नें केवळें । तेथून जालीं
patrem puṣpem phaḷem muḷem | nānā varṇa nānā rasāḷem |
nānā dhānyem annem kevaḷem | tethūna jālīm
Leaves, flowers, fruits, roots; various colours, juicy flavours; / various grains, purely — food arose from there.
अन्नापासून जालें रेत । रेतापासून प्राणी निपजत ।
ऐसी हे रोकडी प्रचित । उत्पत्तीची
annāpāsūna jālem reta | retāpāsūna prāṇī nipajata |
aisī he rokaḍī pracita | utpattīcī
From food arose semen; from semen, creatures are born. / Such is the cash-in-hand pratīti — of utpatti.
अंडज जारज श्वेतज उद्वीज । पृथ्वी पाणी सकळांचे बीज ।
ऐसें हें नवल चोज । सृष्टिरचनेचें
amḍaja jāraja śvetaja udvīja | pṛthvī pāṇī sakaḷāmce bīja |
aisem hem navala coja | sṛṣṭiracanecem
Aṇḍaja, jarāyuja, svetaja, udbhija — earth, water — of all the seed. / Such is the wondrous matter — of sṛṣṭi-rachanā.
च्यारि खाणी च्यारि वाणी । चौर्यासि लक्ष जीवयोनी ।
निर्माण झाले लोक तिनी । पिंडब्रह्मांड
cyāri khāṇī cyāri vāṇī | cauryāsi lakṣa jīvayonī |
nirmāṇa jhāle loka tinī | pimḍabrahmāmḍa
Four wombs, four speeches, 84-lakh jīva-yonis; / three lokas — piṇḍa-brahmāṇḍa — were created.
मुळीं अष्टधा प्रकृती । अवघे पाण्यापासून जन्मती ।
पाणी नस्तां मरती । सकळ प्राणी
muḷīm aṣṭadhā prakṛtī | avaghe pāṇyāpāsūna janmatī |
pāṇī nastām maratī | sakaḷa prāṇī
At root is aṣṭadhā-prakṛti; all arise from water. / Without water, they die — all creatures.
नव्हे अनुमानाचें बोलणें । याचा बरा प्रत्ययें घेणें ।
वेदशास्त्रें पुराणें । प्रत्ययें घ्यावीं
navhe anumānācem bolaṇem | yācā barā pratyayem gheṇem |
vedaśāstrem purāṇem | pratyayem ghyāvīm
It is not a matter of inference; take its pratyaya well. / Veda-śāstra-Purāṇas — should be taken by pratyaya.
जें आपल्या प्रत्यया येना । तें अनुमानिक घ्यावेना ।
प्रत्ययाविण सकळ जना । वेवसाये नाहीं
jem āpalyā pratyayā yenā | tem anumānika ghyāvenā |
pratyayāviṇa sakaḷa janā | vevasāye nāhīm
What does not come to one's own pratyaya — should not be taken as inferential. / Without pratyaya, for all people — there is no enterprise.
वेवसाये प्रवृत्ती निवृत्ती । दोहिंकडे पाहिजे प्रचिती ।
प्रचितीविण अनुमानें असती। ते विवेकहीन
vevasāye pravṛttī nivṛttī | dohimkaḍe pāhije pracitī |
pracitīviṇa anumānem asatī | te vivekahīna
Enterprise in pravṛtti-nivṛtti — on both sides pratīti is needed. / Inferences without pratīti — are vivek-less.
ऐसा सृष्टिरचनेचा विचार । संकळित बोलिला प्रकार ।
आतां विस्ताराचा संहार । तोहि ऐका
aisā sṛṣṭiracanecā vicāra | samkaḷita bolilā prakāra |
ātām vistārācā samhāra | tohi aikā
Such is the consideration of sṛṣṭi-rachanā — in brief, the manner was spoken. / Now the expansion's samhāra — hear that too.
मुळापासून सेवटवरी । अवघा आत्मारामचि करी ।
करी आणि विवरी । येथायोग्य
muḷāpāsūna sevaṭavarī | avaghā ātmārāmaci karī |
karī āṇi vivarī | yethāyogya
From root to end — all Ātmārāma does. / Does and examines — appropriate-fit.
पुढेंसंव्हार निरोपिला । श्रोतीं पाहिजे ऐकिला ।
इतुक्याउपरी जाला । समास पूर्ण
puḍhemsamvhāra niropilā | śrotīm pāhije aikilā |
itukyāuparī jālā | samāsa pūrṇa
Ahead the samhāra was expounded; listeners should hear. / By this much — the samāsa is full.
