पंचभूतें चाले जग । पंचभूतांची लगबग ।
पंचभूतें गेलियां मग । काये आहे
pamcabhūtem cāle jaga | pamcabhūtāmcī lagabaga |
pamcabhūtem geliyām maga | kāye āhe
By pañca-bhūtas the world proceeds; the rush of pañca-bhūtas; / pañca-bhūtas gone, then — what exists?
श्रोता वक्तयास बोले । भूतांचे महिमे वाढविले ।
आणि त्रिगुण कोठें गेले । सांगा स्वामी
śrotā vaktayāsa bole | bhūtāmce mahime vāḍhavile |
āṇi triguṇa koṭhem gele | sāmgā svāmī
Listener says to vaktā: 'You have grown bhūtas' mahimā; / and tri-guṇas — where have they gone? Tell, Svāmī.'
अंतरात्मा पांचवे भूत । त्रिगुण त्याचें अंगभूत ।
सावध करूनियां चित्त । बरें पाहें
amtarātmā pāmcave bhūta | triguṇa tyācem amgabhūta |
sāvadha karūniyām citta | barem pāhem
Antarātmā is the fifth bhūta; tri-guṇas are his anga-bhūta (body-portion); / alert citta — see well.
भूत म्हणिजे जितुकें जालें । त्रिगुण जाल्यांत आले ।
इतुकेन मूळ खंडलें । आशंकेचें
bhūta mhaṇije jitukem jālem | triguṇa jālyāmta āle |
itukena mūḷa khamḍalem | āśamkecem
Bhūta means 'arose'; entered within tri-guṇas; / by this much the root is cut — of the doubt.
भूतांवेगळें कांहीं नाहीं । भूतजात हें सर्व हि ।
येकावेगळें येक कांहीं । घडेचिना
bhūtāmvegaḷem kāmhīm nāhīm | bhūtajāta hem sarva hi |
yekāvegaḷem yeka kāmhīm | ghaḍecinā
Apart from bhūtas, nothing is; bhūta-kind is everything; / one-without-the-other — does not happen.
आत्म्याचेनी जाला पवन । पवनाचेन प्रगटे अग्न ।
अग्नीपासून जीवन । ऐसें बोलती
ātmyācenī jālā pavana | pavanācena pragaṭe agna |
agnīpāsūna jīvana | aisem bolatī
By Ātmā, vāyu arose; by vāyu, agni manifests; / from agni, water — so they say.
जीवन आवघें डबाबिलें । तें रविमंडळें आळलें ।
वन्हीवायोचेन जालें । भूमंडळ
jīvana āvaghem ḍabābilem | tem ravimamḍaḷem āḷalem |
vanhīvāyocena jālem | bhūmamḍaḷa
All water filled-up; by sun-orb it dried; / by vahni-vāyu — the earth-globe was made.
वन्ही वायो रवी नस्तां । तरी होते उदंड सीतळता ।
ते सीतळतेमधें उष्णता । येणें न्यायें
vanhī vāyo ravī nastām | tarī hote udamḍa sītaḷatā |
te sītaḷatemadhem uṣṇatā | yeṇem nyāyem
Without vahni, vāyu, ravi — there was abundant coolness; / within that coolness, heat — by this manner.
आवघें वर्मासी वर्म केलें । तरीच येवढें फांपावलें ।
देहेमात्र तितुकें जालें । वर्माकरितां
āvaghem varmāsī varma kelem | tarīca yevaḍhem phāmpāvalem |
dehemātra titukem jālem | varmākaritām
In every point, point-was-made — then it spread so much. / Every body was made — by this point.
आवघें सीतळचि असतें । तरी प्राणीमात्र मरोनी जातें ।
आवघ्या उष्णेंचि करपते । सकळ कांहीं
āvaghem sītaḷaci asatem | tarī prāṇīmātra maronī jātem |
āvaghyā uṣṇemci karapate | sakaḷa kāmhīm
If all were cool, every creature would die; / by all-heat, would wither — everything.
भूमंडळ आळोन गोठलें । तें रविकिर्णें वाळोन गेलें ।
मग सहज चि देवें रचिलें । उपायासी
bhūmamḍaḷa āḷona goṭhalem | tem ravikirṇem vāḷona gelem |
maga sahaja ci devem racilem | upāyāsī
Earth-globe congealed-and-froze; by sun-rays dried up; / then spontaneously Deva composed — the remedy.
म्हणोनी केला प्रज्यन्यकाळ । थंड जालें भूमंडळ ।
पुढेंउष्ण कांहीं सीतळ । सीतकाळ जाणावा
mhaṇonī kelā prajyanyakāḷa | thamḍa jālem bhūmamḍaḷa |
puḍhemuṣṇa kāmhīm sītaḷa | sītakāḷa jāṇāvā
Therefore made rainy-season; earth-globe became cool; / ahead hot and some cool — should be known as cold-season.
सीतकाळें कष्टले लोक । कर्पोन गेलें वृक्षादिक ।
म्हणोन पुढें कौतुक । उष्णकाळाचें
sītakāḷem kaṣṭale loka | karpona gelem vṛkṣādika |
mhaṇona puḍhem kautuka | uṣṇakāḷācem
People were pained by cold; trees etc. withered; / therefore ahead the delight — of hot-season.
त्याहिमधें प्रातःकाळ । माध्यानकाळ सायंकाळ ।
सीतकाळ उष्णकाळ । निर्माण केले
tyāhimadhem prātaḥkāḷa | mādhyānakāḷa sāyamkāḷa |
sītakāḷa uṣṇakāḷa | nirmāṇa kele
Among these, prātaḥ-kāla; mid-day-kāla, evening-kāla; / cold-season, hot-season — were created.
ऐसें येकामागें येक केलें । विलेनें नेमस्त लाविलें ।
येणेंकरितां जगले । प्राणीमात्र
aisem yekāmāgem yeka kelem | vilenem nemasta lāvilem |
yeṇemkaritām jagale | prāṇīmātra
Such one-after-another was made; with time rigorously attached; / by this, lived — every creature.
नाना रसें रोग कठिण । म्हणोनी औषधी केल्या निर्माण ।
परंतु सृष्टीचें विवरण । कळलें पाहिजे
nānā rasem roga kaṭhiṇa | mhaṇonī auṣadhī kelyā nirmāṇa |
paramtu sṛṣṭīcem vivaraṇa | kaḷalem pāhije
Various juices, hard diseases; therefore herbs were created; / but the consideration of sṛṣṭi — must be known.
देहेमूळ रक्त रेत । त्या आपाचे होती दात ।
ऐसीच भूमंडळीं प्रचित । नाना रत्नांची
dehemūḷa rakta reta | tyā āpāce hotī dāta |
aisīca bhūmamḍaḷīm pracita | nānā ratnāmcī
Body's root is blood-semen; their teeth grow from water (āpa); / such is earth-globe's pratīti — of various gems.
सकळांसी मूळ जीवन बांधा । जीवनें चाले सकळ धंदा ।
जीवनेंविण हरिगोविंदा । प्राणी कैचे
sakaḷāmsī mūḷa jīvana bāmdhā | jīvanem cāle sakaḷa dhamdā |
jīvanemviṇa harigovimdā | prāṇī kaice
The root of all is water-binding; by water all business proceeds; / without water, Hari-Govinda — whence creatures?
जीवनाचें मुक्ताफळ । शुक्रासारिखें सुढाळ ।
हिरे माणिके इंद्रनीळ । ते जळें जाले
jīvanācem muktāphaḷa | śukrāsārikhem suḍhāḷa |
hire māṇike imdranīḷa | te jaḷem jāle
Water's pearl; fair like Venus; / diamonds, rubies, sapphires — they were made by water.
महिमा कोणाचा सांगावा । जाला कर्दमुचि आघवा ।
वेगळवेगळु निवडावा । कोण्या प्रकारें
mahimā koṇācā sāmgāvā | jālā kardamuci āghavā |
vegaḷavegaḷu nivaḍāvā | koṇyā prakārem
Whose mahimā to tell? All became mire; / how to select separately — in what manner?
परंतु बोलिलें कांहींयेक । मनास कळावया विवेक ।
जनामधें तार्किक लोक । समजती आघवें
paramtu bolilem kāmhīmyeka | manāsa kaḷāvayā viveka |
janāmadhem tārkika loka | samajatī āghavem
Yet said something; for mind to know vivek; / the tārkika people among men — understand all.
आवघें समजलें हें घडेना । शास्त्रांशास्त्रांसीं पडेना ।
अनुमानें निश्चय होयेना । कांहींयेक
āvaghem samajalem hem ghaḍenā | śāstrāmśāstrāmsīm paḍenā |
anumānem niścaya hoyenā | kāmhīmyeka
To understand all does not happen; does not fit with śāstra-on-śāstra; / by inference certainty does not occur — anything.
अगाध गुण भगवंताचे । शेष वर्णूं न शके वाचें ।
वेदविधी तेहि काचे । देवेंविण
agādha guṇa bhagavamtāce | śeṣa varṇūm na śake vācem |
vedavidhī tehi kāce | devemviṇa
Profound guṇas of Bhagavant; Śeṣa's speech cannot describe; / Veda-vidhi too becomes raw — without Deva.
आत्माराम सकळां पाळी । आवघें त्रयलोक्य सांभाळी ।
तया येकेंविण धुळी । होये सर्वत्रांची
ātmārāma sakaḷām pāḷī | āvaghem trayalokya sāmbhāḷī |
tayā yekemviṇa dhuḷī | hoye sarvatrāmcī
Ātmārāma nourishes all; protects all three worlds; / without him — dust — becomes everything.
जेथें आत्माराम नाहीं । तेथें उरों न शके कांहीं ।
त्रयलोकीचे प्राणी सर्व हि । प्रेतरूपी
jethem ātmārāma nāhīm | tethem urom na śake kāmhīm |
trayalokīce prāṇī sarva hi | pretarūpī
Where Ātmārāma is not — nothing can endure; / the three-world creatures all — are corpse-form.
आत्मा नस्तां येती मरणें । आत्म्याविण कैचें जिणें ।
बरा विवेक समजणें । अंतर्यामीं
ātmā nastām yetī maraṇem | ātmyāviṇa kaicem jiṇem |
barā viveka samajaṇem | amtaryāmīm
Without Ātmā, death comes; without Ātmā, whence life? / Vivek must be well-understood — within.
समजणें जें विवेकाचें । तेंहि आत्म्याविण कैचें ।
कोणीयेकें जगदीशाचें । भजन करावें
samajaṇem jem vivekācem | temhi ātmyāviṇa kaicem |
koṇīyekem jagadīśācem | bhajana karāvem
The understanding of vivek — also without Ātmā is whence? / Some should do bhajana — of jagadīśa.
उपासना प्रगट जाली । तरी हे विचारणा कळली ।
याकारणें पाहिजे केली । विचारणा देवाची
upāsanā pragaṭa jālī | tarī he vicāraṇā kaḷalī |
yākāraṇem pāhije kelī | vicāraṇā devācī
When upāsanā has manifested — then this examination is known; / for this reason, must be made — Deva's examination.
उपासनेचा मोठा आश्रयो । उपासनेविण निराश्रयो ।
उदंड केलें तरी तो जयो । प्राप्त नाहीं
upāsanecā moṭhā āśrayo | upāsaneviṇa nirāśrayo |
udamḍa kelem tarī to jayo | prāpta nāhīm
Upāsanā is great shelter; without upāsanā, shelterless; / much done, but victory — is not attained.
समर्थाची नाहीं पाठी । तयास भलताच कुटी ।
याकारणें उठाउठी । भजन करावें
samarthācī nāhīm pāṭhī | tayāsa bhalatāca kuṭī |
yākāraṇem uṭhāuṭhī | bhajana karāvem
He who has no support of the Samartha — anyone whatsoever beats him; / for this reason, immediately — must do bhajana.
भजन साधन अभ्यास। येणें पाविजे परलोकास ।
दास म्हणे हा विश्वास । धरिला पाहिजे
bhajana sādhana abhyāsa | yeṇem pāvije paralokāsa |
dāsa mhaṇe hā viśvāsa | dharilā pāhije
Bhajana, sādhana, practice — by this, the other-world is attained. / Das says — such faith — must be held.
