निश्चळ ब्रह्मी चंचळ आत्मा । सकळां पर जो परमात्मा ।
चैतन्य साक्षी ज्ञानात्मा । शड्गुणैश्वरु
niścaḷa brahmī camcaḷa ātmā | sakaḷām para jo paramātmā |
caitanya sākṣī jñānātmā | śaḍguṇaiśvaru
In niścala Brahma, cañcala Ātmā; Paramātmā beyond all; / Caitanya, sākṣī, jñānātmā, ṣaḍ-guṇaiśvara.
सकळ जगाचा ईश्वरु । म्हणौन नामें जगदेश्वरु ।
तयापासून विस्तारु । विस्तारला
sakaḷa jagācā īśvaru | mhaṇauna nāmem jagadeśvaru |
tayāpāsūna vistāru | vistāralā
Lord of all the world — hence name Jagadeśvara; / from him expansion — was expanded.
शिवशक्ती जगदेश्वरी । प्रकृतिपुरुष परमेश्वरी ।
मूळमाया गुणेश्वरी । गुणक्षोभिणी
śivaśaktī jagadeśvarī | prakṛtipuruṣa parameśvarī |
mūḷamāyā guṇeśvarī | guṇakṣobhiṇī
Śivaśakti, Jagadeśvarī; prakṛti-puruṣa Parameśvarī; / mūla-māyā Guṇeśvarī, Guṇa-kṣobhiṇī.
क्षेत्रज्ञ द्रष्टा कूटस्त साक्षी । अंतरात्मा सर्वसाक्षी ।
सुद्धसत्व महत्तत्त्व परीक्षी । जाणता साधु
kṣetrajña draṣṭā kūṭasta sākṣī | amtarātmā sarvasākṣī |
suddhasatva mahattattva parīkṣī | jāṇatā sādhu
Kṣetrajña, dṛṣṭā, kūṭastha, sākṣī, Antarātmā, sarva-sākṣī; / śuddha-sattva, mahat-tattva examining — the knowing sādhu.
ब्रह्मा विष्णु महेश्वरु । नाना पिंडी जीवेश्वरु ।
त्यास भासती प्राणीमात्रु । लहानथोर
brahmā viṣṇu maheśvaru | nānā pimḍī jīveśvaru |
tyāsa bhāsatī prāṇīmātru | lahānathora
Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Maheśvara; in various piṇḍas, jīveśvara; / to him creatures appear — small-and-great.
देहदेउळामधें बैसला । न भजतां मारितो देहाला ।
म्हणौनि त्याच्या भेणें तयाला । भजती लोक
dehadeuḷāmadhem baisalā | na bhajatām mārito dehālā |
mhaṇauni tyācyā bheṇem tayālā | bhajatī loka
He sits in the body-temple; if not worshipped, strikes the body. / Therefore out of fear of him — people worship.
जे वेळेसी भजन चुकले । तें तें तेव्हां पछ्याडिलें ।
आवडीनें भजों लागले । सकळ लोक
je veḷesī bhajana cukale | tem tem tevhām pachyāḍilem |
āvaḍīnem bhajom lāgale | sakaḷa loka
Whenever bhajana was missed — that very then was punished. / With love people began to worship — all.
जें जें जेव्हां आक्षेपिले । तें तें तत्काळचि दिधलें ।
त्रैलोक्य भजों लागलें । येणें प्रकरें
jem jem jevhām ākṣepile | tem tem tatkāḷaci didhalem |
trailokya bhajom lāgalem | yeṇem prakarem
Whatever was objected to whenever — that was given at once. / Three worlds began to worship — in this manner.
पांचा विषयांचा नैव्यद्य । जेव्हां पाहिजे तेव्हां सिद्ध ।
ऐसें न करितां सद्य । रोग होती
pāmcā viṣayāmcā naivyadya | jevhām pāhije tevhām siddha |
aisem na karitām sadya | roga hotī
The offering (naivedya) of five viṣayas — ready when wanted; / not doing so immediately — diseases arise.
जेणें काळें नैव्यद्य पावेना । तेणें काळें देव राहेना ।
भाग्य वैभव पदार्थ नाना । सांडून जातो
jeṇem kāḷem naivyadya pāvenā | teṇem kāḷem deva rāhenā |
bhāgya vaibhava padārtha nānā | sāmḍūna jāto
At what time naivedya is not attained — at that time Deva does not remain; / fortune, wealth, various objects — leaves.
जातो तों कळो देईना । कोणास ठाउकें होयेना ।
देवेंविण अनुमानेना । कोणास देव
jāto tom kaḷo deīnā | koṇāsa ṭhāukem hoyenā |
devemviṇa anumānenā | koṇāsa deva
On leaving it does not let be known; is known to no one. / Without Deva, not-inferred — for anyone, Deva.
देव पाहावयकारणें । देउळें लागती पाहाणें ।
कोठेंतरी देउळाच्या गुणें । देव प्रगटे
deva pāhāvayakāraṇem | deuḷem lāgatī pāhāṇem |
koṭhemtarī deuḷācyā guṇem | deva pragaṭe
To see Deva, temples must be seen; / somewhere by the temple's quality — Deva manifests.
देउळें म्हणिजे नाना शरीरें । तेथें राहिजें जीवेश्वेरे ।
नान शरीरें नाना प्रकारें । अनंत भेदें
deuḷem mhaṇije nānā śarīrem | tethem rāhijem jīveśvere |
nāna śarīrem nānā prakārem | anamta bhedem
Temples means various bodies; there Jīveśvara dwells; / various bodies, various kinds — with endless divisions.
चालतीं बोलतीं देउळें । त्यामधें राहिजें राउळें ।
जितुकीं देउळें तितुकीं सकळें । कळली पाहिजे
cālatīm bolatīm deuḷem | tyāmadhem rāhijem rāuḷem |
jitukīm deuḷem titukīm sakaḷem | kaḷalī pāhije
Moving, speaking temples; within them the rāuḷa (deity) dwells; / as many temples as there are — all must be known.
मछ कूर्म वाराह देउळें । भूगोळ धरिला सर्वकाळें ।
कराळें विक्राळें निर्मळें । कितियेक
macha kūrma vārāha deuḷem | bhūgoḷa dharilā sarvakāḷem |
karāḷem vikrāḷem nirmaḷem | kitiyeka
Fish, tortoise, boar — temples; held earth-globe at all times; / terrifying, fearsome, pure — several.
कित्येक देऊळीं सौख्य पाहे । भरतां आवघें सिंध आहे ।
परी तें सर्वकाळ न राहे । अशाश्वत
kityeka deūḷīm saukhya pāhe | bharatām āvaghem simdha āhe |
parī tem sarvakāḷa na rāhe | aśāśvata
In several temples he sees happiness; filled all ocean there is; / but it does not stay always — non-eternal.
अशाश्वताचा मस्तकमणीं । जयाची येवढी करणी ।
दिसेना तरी काय जालें धनी । तयासीच म्हणावें
aśāśvatācā mastakamaṇīm | jayācī yevaḍhī karaṇī |
disenā tarī kāya jālem dhanī | tayāsīca mhaṇāvem
Crown-jewel of the non-eternal — whose doing is so much; / not seen, but what happened? He should be called the owner.
उद्भवोन्मुख होतां अभेद । विमुख होतां उदंड खेद ।
ऐसा अधोर्ध संवाद । होत जातो
udbhavonmukha hotām abheda | vimukha hotām udamḍa kheda |
aisā adhordha samvāda | hota jāto
Becoming manifest, abheda; becoming averted, abundant grief; / such up-and-down dialogue — goes on.
सकळांचे मूळ दिसेना । भव्य भारी आणी भासेना ।
निमिष्य येक वसेना । येके ठाइं
sakaḷāmce mūḷa disenā | bhavya bhārī āṇī bhāsenā |
nimiṣya yeka vasenā | yeke ṭhāim
The root of all is not seen; grand-great and does not appear; / does not dwell for an instant — in one place.
ऐसा अगाध परमात्मा । कोण जाणे त्याचा महिमा ।
तुझी लीळा सर्वोत्तमा । तूंच जाणसी
aisā agādha paramātmā | koṇa jāṇe tyācā mahimā |
tujhī līḷā sarvottamā | tūmca jāṇasī
Such is the profound Paramātmā; who knows his mahimā? / Your līlā, Sarvottama — You alone know.
संसारा आलियाचें सार्थक । जेथें नित्यानित्यविवेक ।
येहलोक आणी परलोक । दोनीं साधिले
samsārā āliyācem sārthaka | jethem nityānityaviveka |
yehaloka āṇī paraloka | donīm sādhile
The fulfilment of having come to samsāra — where is nitya-anitya-vivek; / this-world and other-world — both accomplished.
मननसीळ लोकांपासीं । अखंड देव आहिर्निशीं ।
पाहातां त्यांच्या पूर्वसंचितासी । जोडा नाहीं
mananasīḷa lokāmpāsīm | akhamḍa deva āhirniśīm |
pāhātām tyāmcyā pūrvasamcitāsī | joḍā nāhīm
With the meditative people — always Deva day-and-night; / on examining their past-accumulated [karma] — no match.
अखंड योग म्हणोनि योगी । योग नाहीं तो वियोगी ।
वियोगी तोहि योगी । योगबळें
akhamḍa yoga mhaṇoni yogī | yoga nāhīm to viyogī |
viyogī tohi yogī | yogabaḷem
Unbroken yoga — hence yogī; no yoga — he is vi-yogī; / vi-yogī is also yogī — by yoga-strength.
भल्यांची महिमा ऐसी । जे सन्मार्ग लावी लोकांसी ।
पोहणार असतां बुडतयासी । बुडों नेदावें
bhalyāmcī mahimā aisī | je sanmārga lāvī lokāmsī |
pohaṇāra asatām buḍatayāsī | buḍom nedāvem
Such is the mahimā of the good — who places the good-path before people; / being a swimmer, the drowning — should not be let drown.
स्थूळसूक्ष्मतत्वझाडा । पिंडब्रह्मांडाचा निवाडा ।
प्रचित पाहे ऐसा थोडा । भूमंडळीं
sthūḷasūkṣmatatvajhāḍā | pimḍabrahmāmḍācā nivāḍā |
pracita pāhe aisā thoḍā | bhūmamḍaḷīm
Sthūla-sūkṣma-tattva-list; decision of piṇḍa-brahmāṇḍa; / he who sees by pratīti — few on earth-globe.
वेदांतीचें पंचिकर्ण । अखंड तयाचें विवर्ण ।
महांवाक्यें अंतःकरण । रहस्य पाहे
vedāmtīcem pamcikarṇa | akhamḍa tayācem vivarṇa |
mahāmvākyem amtaḥkaraṇa | rahasya pāhe
Vedānta's pañcīkaraṇa; its unbroken exposition; / Mahāvākya within — sees the essence.
ये पृथ्वीमधें विवेकी असती । धन्य तयांची संगती ।
श्रवणमात्रें पावती गती । प्राणीमात्र
ye pṛthvīmadhem vivekī asatī | dhanya tayāmcī samgatī |
śravaṇamātrem pāvatī gatī | prāṇīmātra
On earth are vivekīs; blessed their company; / by mere śravaṇa, every creature — attains gati.
सत्संग आणी सत्शास्त्रश्रवण । अखंड होतसे विवर्ण ।
नाना सत्संग आणी उत्तम गुण । परोपकाराचे
satsamga āṇī satśāstraśravaṇa | akhamḍa hotase vivarṇa |
nānā satsamga āṇī uttama guṇa | paropakārāce
Sat-sanga and sat-śāstra-śravaṇa — unbroken exposition; / various sat-sanga and excellent virtues — of paropakāra.
जे सद्कीर्तीचे पुरुष । ते परमेश्वराचे अंश ।
धर्मस्थापनेचा हव्यास । तेथेंचि वसे
je sadkīrtīce puruṣa | te parameśvarāce amśa |
dharmasthāpanecā havyāsa | tethemci vase
Those who are of good-fame-puruṣas — are amśas of Parameśvara; / the zeal of establishing dharma — dwells in them.
विशेष सारासार विचार । तेणें होय जग्गोद्धार ।
संगत्यागें निरंतर । होऊन गेले
viśeṣa sārāsāra vicāra | teṇem hoya jaggoddhāra |
samgatyāgem niramtara | hoūna gele
The special sāra-asāra consideration — by that jagad-uddhāra occurs. / By association-renunciation continuously — they go.
