आत्मा देहाअध्यें असतो । नाना सुखदुखें भोगितो ।
सेवटीं शरीर सांडून जातो । येकायेकीं
ātmā dehāadhyem asato | nānā sukhadukhem bhogito |
sevaṭīm śarīra sāmḍūna jāto | yekāyekīm
Ātmā dwells in body; enjoys various sukha-duḥkhas; / at last leaves body and goes — all at once.
शरीरीं शक्ति तारुण्यपणीं । नाना सुखें भोगी प्राणी ।
अशक्त होतां वृद्धपणीं । दुःखें भोगी
śarīrīm śakti tāruṇyapaṇīm | nānā sukhem bhogī prāṇī |
aśakta hotām vṛddhapaṇīm | duḥkhem bhogī
Body with strength in youth; enjoys various sukhas the creature; / becoming weak in old age — bears duḥkhas.
मरावेना ऐसी आवडी । हातपाये खोडून प्राण सोडी ।
नाना दुःखें अवघडी । वृद्धपणीं
marāvenā aisī āvaḍī | hātapāye khoḍūna prāṇa soḍī |
nānā duḥkhem avaghaḍī | vṛddhapaṇīm
'Do not die' — such love; with hands-and-feet knotted, releases life; / various sorrows, hardships — in old age.
देहआत्मयांची संगती । कांहींयेक सुख भोगिती ।
चर्फडचर्फडून जाती । देहांतकाळीं
dehaātmayāmcī samgatī | kāmhīmyeka sukha bhogitī |
carphaḍacarphaḍūna jātī | dehāmtakāḷīm
Body-Ātmā's association; enjoys some sukha; / goes writhing-and-fretting — at body-end-time.
ऐसा आत्मा दुःखदायेक । येकांचे प्राण घेती येक ।
आणी सेवटीं निरार्थक । कांहींच नाहीं
aisā ātmā duḥkhadāyeka | yekāmce prāṇa ghetī yeka |
āṇī sevaṭīm nirārthaka | kāmhīmca nāhīm
Such Ātmā is sorrow-giving; some take others' lives; / and at the end useless — nothing [remains].
ऐसा दों दिसांचा भ्रम । त्यास म्हणती परब्रह्म ।
नाना दुःखाचा संभ्रम । मानून घेतला ॥। ६ ॥
दुःखी होऊन चर्फडून गेले । तेथें कोण समाधान जालें ।
कांहींयेकसुख भोगिलें । तों सवेंचि दुःख
aisā dom disāmcā bhrama | tyāsa mhaṇatī parabrahma |
nānā duḥkhācā sambhrama | mānūna ghetalā || | 6 ||
duḥkhī hoūna carphaḍūna gele | tethem koṇa samādhāna jālem |
kāmhīmyekasukha bhogilem | tom savemci duḥkha
Such a two-day delusion — is called para-brahma; / took on the pomp of various sorrows. / Sorrow-writhing they went; there what samādhāna was? / Some sukha enjoyed — then immediately duḥkha.
जन्म दारभ्य आठवावें । म्हणिजे अवघें पडेल ठावें ।
नाना दुःख मोजावें । काये म्हणोनी
janma dārabhya āṭhavāvem | mhaṇije avaghem paḍela ṭhāvem |
nānā duḥkha mojāvem | kāye mhaṇonī
Should remember from beginning of birth; then all falls into place; / various duḥkhas to count — for what purpose?
ऐसी आत्मयाची संगती । नाना दुःखें प्राप्त होती ।
दैन्यवाणे होऊन जाती । प्राणीमात्र
aisī ātmayācī samgatī | nānā duḥkhem prāpta hotī |
dainyavāṇe hoūna jātī | prāṇīmātra
Such is Ātmā's company; various sorrows attained; / pitiable go — every creature.
कांहीं आनंद कांहीं खेद । जन्मवरी पडिला समंध ।
नाना प्रकरीं विरुद्ध । तडातोडी
kāmhīm ānamda kāmhīm kheda | janmavarī paḍilā samamdha |
nānā prakarīm viruddha | taḍātoḍī
Some joy, some grief; up to birth a connection fell; / in various ways contrary — tug-of-war.
निद्राकाळीं ढेकुण पिसा । नाना प्रकारीं वळसा ।
नाना उपायें वळसा । त्यांस होये
nidrākāḷīm ḍhekuṇa pisā | nānā prakārīm vaḷasā |
nānā upāyem vaḷasā | tyāmsa hoye
At sleep-time bedbugs, ants; various kinds of commotion; / various means to dodge — occur to them.
भोजनकाळी माश्या येती । नाना पदार्थ उंदीर नेती ।
पुढें त्यांची हि फजिती । मार्जरें करिती
bhojanakāḷī māśyā yetī | nānā padārtha umdīra netī |
puḍhem tyāmcī hi phajitī | mārjarem karitī
At meal-time flies come; various objects mice carry off; / ahead their shaming too — cats do.
वा चामवा गोंचिड । गांधेलें कानटें उदंड ।
येकास येक चर्फड । दोहिकडे
vā cāmavā gomciḍa | gāmdhelem kānaṭem udamḍa |
yekāsa yeka carphaḍa | dohikaḍe
Flies, lice, ticks; ganders, ear-insects abundant; / one's fretting at another — on both sides.
विंचु सर्प वाग रिसें । सुसरी लांडिगे माणसास माणसें ।
परस्परें सुखसंतोषें । येकहि नाहीं
vimcu sarpa vāga risem | susarī lāmḍige māṇasāsa māṇasem |
parasparem sukhasamtoṣem | yekahi nāhīm
Scorpion, serpent, tiger, bear; crocodile, wolf, man-man; / mutually with sukha-contentment — not even one [pair].
चौर्यासि लक्ष उत्पत्ती । येकास येक भक्षिती ।
नाना पीडा दुःखणी किती । म्हणौन सांगावें
cauryāsi lakṣa utpattī | yekāsa yeka bhakṣitī |
nānā pīḍā duḥkhaṇī kitī | mhaṇauna sāmgāvem
84-lakh utpatti; one eats another; / various pains, sufferings how many — to tell?
ऐसी अंतरात्म्याची करणी । नाना जीव दाटले धरणीं ।
परस्परें संव्हारणी । येकयेकांची
aisī amtarātmyācī karaṇī | nānā jīva dāṭale dharaṇīm |
parasparem samvhāraṇī | yekayekāmcī
Such is the Antarātmā's doing; various jīvas pack the earth; / mutually destroying — one another.
अखंड रडती । चर्फडिती । विवळविवळों प्राण देती ।
मूर्ख प्राणी त्यास म्हणती । परब्रह्म
akhamḍa raḍatī | carphaḍitī | vivaḷavivaḷom prāṇa detī |
mūrkha prāṇī tyāsa mhaṇatī | parabrahma
Unbrokenly cry, fret; writhing-writhing give up life; / fool creatures call it — para-brahma.
परब्रह्म जाणार नाहीं । कोणास दुःख देणार नाहीं ।
स्तुती निंदा दोनी नाहीं । परब्रह्मीं
parabrahma jāṇāra nāhīm | koṇāsa duḥkha deṇāra nāhīm |
stutī nimdā donī nāhīm | parabrahmīm
Para-brahma will not go; will not give sorrow to anyone; / praise-condemnation — neither in para-brahma.
उदंड शिव्या दिधल्या । तितुक्या अंतरात्म्यास लागल्या ।
विचार पाहतां प्रत्यया आल्या । येथातथ्य
udamḍa śivyā didhalyā | titukyā amtarātmyāsa lāgalyā |
vicāra pāhatām pratyayā ālyā | yethātathya
Abundant insults delivered — all fell on the Antarātmā. / On examining, came to pratyaya — as truth.
धगडीचा बटकीचा लवंडीचा । गधडीचा कुतरीचा वोंगळीचा ।
ऐसा हिशेब सिव्यांचा । किती म्हणोनि सांगावा
dhagaḍīcā baṭakīcā lavamḍīcā | gadhaḍīcā kutarīcā vomgaḷīcā |
aisā hiśeba sivyāmcā | kitī mhaṇoni sāmgāvā
'Slut-son, whore-son, cheater-son; ass-son, dog-son, filthy-son' — / such is the count of insults — how much to tell?
इतुकें परब्रह्मीं लागेना । तेथें कल्पनाचि चालेना ।
तडातोडीचें ज्ञान मानेना । कोणीयेकासी
itukem parabrahmīm lāgenā | tethem kalpanāci cālenā |
taḍātoḍīcem jñāna mānenā | koṇīyekāsī
So much does not attach to para-brahma; there kalpanā does not proceed. / The jñāna of tug-of-war — accepted by no one.
सृष्टीमधें सकळ जीव । सकळांस कैचें वैभव ।
याकारणें ठायाठाव । निर्मिला देवें
sṛṣṭīmadhem sakaḷa jīva | sakaḷāmsa kaicem vaibhava |
yākāraṇem ṭhāyāṭhāva | nirmilā devem
In sṛṣṭi all jīvas; whence vaibhava for all? / For this reason, rank-rank — created by Deva.
उदंड लोक बाजारीचे । जें जें आलें तें तें वेंचे ।
उत्तम तितुके भाग्याचें । लोक घेती
udamḍa loka bājārīce | jem jem ālem tem tem vemce |
uttama tituke bhāgyācem | loka ghetī
Abundant bazaar-folk; whatever came, it sold; / the fortunate take — the excellent.
येणें न्यायें अन्न वसन । येणेंचि न्यायें देवतार्चन ।
येणेंचि न्यायें ब्रह्मज्ञान । प्राप्तव्यासारिखें
yeṇem nyāyem anna vasana | yeṇemci nyāyem devatārcana |
yeṇemci nyāyem brahmajñāna | prāptavyāsārikhem
By this logic, food-cloth; by this logic, deva-worship; / by this logic, brahma-jñāna — according to what is attainable.
अवघेच लोक सुखी असती । संसार गोड करून नेती ।
माहाराजे वैभव भोगती । तें करंट्यास कैचें
avagheca loka sukhī asatī | samsāra goḍa karūna netī |
māhārāje vaibhava bhogatī | tem karamṭyāsa kaicem
All people are happy; make samsāra sweet; / mahārājas enjoy vaibhava — whence for wretches?
परंतु अंतीं नाना दुःखें । तेथें होतें सगट सारिखें ।
पूर्वीं भोगिलीं नाना सुखें । अंतीं दुःख सोसवेना
paramtu amtīm nānā duḥkhem | tethem hotem sagaṭa sārikhem |
pūrvīm bhogilīm nānā sukhem | amtīm duḥkha sosavenā
But at the end, various duḥkhas — there becomes all-equal; / formerly enjoyed various sukhas — at the end, duḥkha unbearable.
कठिण दुःख सोसवेना । प्राण शरीर सोडिना ।
मृत्यदुःख सगट जना । कासाविस करी
kaṭhiṇa duḥkha sosavenā | prāṇa śarīra soḍinā |
mṛtyaduḥkha sagaṭa janā | kāsāvisa karī
Hard duḥkha unbearable; life does not leave the body; / death-sorrow the commoners — makes distressed.
नाना अवेवहीन जालें । तैसेंचि पाहिजे वर्तलें ।
प्राणीं अंतकाळीं गेलें । कासाविस हौनी
nānā avevahīna jālem | taisemci pāhije vartalem |
prāṇīm amtakāḷīm gelem | kāsāvisa haunī
Various limbs became crippled; one must continue thus; / the creature at end-time — went distressed.
रूप लावण्य अवघें जातें । शरीरसामर्थ्य अवघें राहातें ।
कोणी नस्तां मरतें । आपदआपदों
rūpa lāvaṇya avaghem jātem | śarīrasāmarthya avaghem rāhātem |
koṇī nastām maratem | āpadaāpadom
Beauty all gone; body-strength all remains; / without anyone, dies — in various calamities.
अंतकाळ दैन्य दीन । सकळिकांस तत्समान ।
ऐसें चंचळ अवलक्षण । दुःखकारी
amtakāḷa dainya dīna | sakaḷikāmsa tatsamāna |
aisem camcaḷa avalakṣaṇa | duḥkhakārī
End-time, pitiful, dejected; equal for all; / such cañcala, markless — sorrow-bringing.
भोगून अभोक्ता म्हणती । हे तों अवघीच फजिती ।
लोक उगेच बोलती । पाहिल्याविण
bhogūna abhoktā mhaṇatī | he tom avaghīca phajitī |
loka ugeca bolatī | pāhilyāviṇa
'Enjoying, non-enjoyer' they say — this is all a shame; / people uselessly speak — without having seen.
अंतकाळ आहे कठिण । शेरीर सोडिना प्राण ।
बराड्यासारिखें लक्षण । अंतकाळीं
amtakāḷa āhe kaṭhiṇa | śerīra soḍinā prāṇa |
barāḍyāsārikhem lakṣaṇa | amtakāḷīm
End-time is hard; body does not release life; / barad-like (pauper-like) mark — at end-time.
