देह्याकरितां गुरु सज्जन । संत श्रोते
dehyākaritām gaṇeśapūjana | dehyākaritām śāradāvamdana |
dehyākaritām guru sajjana | samta śrote
For the body, Gaṇeśa-worship; for the body, Śāradā-vandana; / for the body, guru, sajjana, saints, śrotās.
देह्याकरितां कवित्वें चालती । देह्याकरितां अधेनें करिती ।
देह्याकरितां अभ्यासिती । नाना विद्या
dehyākaritām kavitvem cālatī | dehyākaritām adhenem karitī |
dehyākaritām abhyāsitī | nānā vidyā
For the body, poems proceed; for the body, studies are done; / for the body, various vidyās — are practiced.
देह्याकरितां ग्रंथलेखन । नाना लिपीवोळखण ।
नाना पदार्थशोधन । देह्याकरितां
dehyākaritām gramthalekhana | nānā lipīvoḷakhaṇa |
nānā padārthaśodhana | dehyākaritām
For the body, grantha-writing; various script-recognition; / various object-searching — for the body.
देह्याकरितां माहांज्ञानी । सिद्ध सधु ऋषी मुनी ।
देह्याकरितां तीर्थाटणीं । फिरती प्राणी
dehyākaritām māhāmjñānī | siddha sadhu ṛṣī munī |
dehyākaritām tīrthāṭaṇīm | phiratī prāṇī
For the body, great jñānīs; siddhas, sādhus, ṛṣis, munis; / for the body, on tīrthāṭana — roam creatures.
देह्याकरितां श्रवण घडे । देह्याकरितां मननीं पवाडे ।
देह्याकरितां देहीं आतुडे । मुख्य परमात्मा
dehyākaritām śravaṇa ghaḍe | dehyākaritām mananīm pavāḍe |
dehyākaritām dehīm ātuḍe | mukhya paramātmā
For the body, śravaṇa occurs; for the body, manana expands; / for the body in body is found — the main Paramātmā.
देह्याकरितां कर्ममार्ग । देह्याकरितां उपासनामार्ग ।
देह्याकरितां ज्ञानमार्ग । भूमंडळीं
dehyākaritām karmamārga | dehyākaritām upāsanāmārga |
dehyākaritām jñānamārga | bhūmamḍaḷīm
For the body, karma-path; for the body, upāsanā-path; / for the body, jñāna-path — on earth-globe.
योगी वीतरागी तापसी । देह्याकरितां नाना सायासी ॥
देह्याकरितां आत्मयासी । प्रगटणें घडे
yogī vītarāgī tāpasī | dehyākaritām nānā sāyāsī ||
dehyākaritām ātmayāsī | pragaṭaṇem ghaḍe
Yogīs, vīta-rāgīs, tapasīs — for the body's various practices; / for the body, Ātman — becoming manifest occurs.
येहलोक आणि परलोक । देह्याकरितां सकळ सार्थक ।
देहेंविण निरार्थक । सकळ कांहीं
yehaloka āṇi paraloka | dehyākaritām sakaḷa sārthaka |
dehemviṇa nirārthaka | sakaḷa kāmhīm
This-world and other-world; for the body all fulfillment; / without body, meaningless — everything.
पुरश्चरणें अनुष्ठानें । गोरांजनें धूम्रपानें ।
सीतोष्ण पंचाग्नी साधणें । देह्याकरितां
puraścaraṇem anuṣṭhānem | gorāmjanem dhūmrapānem |
sītoṣṇa pamcāgnī sādhaṇem | dehyākaritām
Puraścaraṇas, anuṣṭhānas; gorāñjanas, dhūma-pānas; / cold-hot, pañcāgni practices — for the body.
देह्याकरितां पुण्यसीळ । देह्याकरितां पापी केवळ ।
देह्याकरितां अनर्गळ । सुचिस्मंत
dehyākaritām puṇyasīḷa | dehyākaritām pāpī kevaḷa |
dehyākaritām anargaḷa | sucismamta
For the body, puṇya-pure; for the body, pāpī purely; / for the body, unrestrained, pure — [in conduct].
देह्याकरितां अवतारी । देह्याकरितां वेषधारी ।
नाना बंडें पाषांडें करी । देह्याकरितां
dehyākaritām avatārī | dehyākaritām veṣadhārī |
nānā bamḍem pāṣāmḍem karī | dehyākaritām
For the body, avatārīs; for the body, disguise-bearers; / various revolts, heresies make — for the body.
देह्याकरितां विषयभोग । देह्याकरितां सकळ त्याग ।
होती जाती नाना रोग । देह्याकरितां
dehyākaritām viṣayabhoga | dehyākaritām sakaḷa tyāga |
hotī jātī nānā roga | dehyākaritām
For the body, viṣaya-bhoga; for the body, all renunciation; / various diseases come-and-go — for the body.
देह्याकरितां नवविधा भक्ती । देह्याकरितां चतुर्विधा मुक्ती ।
देह्याकरितां नाना युक्ती । नाना मतें
dehyākaritām navavidhā bhaktī | dehyākaritām caturvidhā muktī |
dehyākaritām nānā yuktī | nānā matem
For the body, nava-vidhā bhakti; for the body, catur-vidhā mukti; / for the body, various yuktis, various doctrines.
देह्याकरितां दानधर्म । देह्याकरितां नाना वर्म ।
देह्याकरितां पूर्वकर्म । म्हणती जनीं
dehyākaritām dānadharma | dehyākaritām nānā varma |
dehyākaritām pūrvakarma | mhaṇatī janīm
For the body, dāna-dharma; for the body, various secrets; / for the body, pūrva-karma — they say among people.
देह्याकरितां नाना स्वार्थ । देह्याकरितां नाना अर्थ ।
देह्याकरितां होईजे वेर्थ । आणी धन्य
dehyākaritām nānā svārtha | dehyākaritām nānā artha |
dehyākaritām hoīje vertha | āṇī dhanya
For the body, various svārthas; for the body, various arthas; / for the body one becomes vain — and blessed.
देह्याकरितां नाना कळा । देह्याकरितां उणा आगळा ।
देह्याकरितां जिव्हाळा । भक्तिमार्गाचा
dehyākaritām nānā kaḷā | dehyākaritām uṇā āgaḷā |
dehyākaritām jivhāḷā | bhaktimārgācā
For the body, various kalās; for the body, deficient or much; / for the body, the affection — of bhakti-path.
नाना सन्मार्गसाधनें । देह्याकरितां तुटती बंधनें ।
देह्याकरितां निवेदनें । मोक्ष लाभे
nānā sanmārgasādhanem | dehyākaritām tuṭatī bamdhanem |
dehyākaritām nivedanem | mokṣa lābhe
Various good-path sādhanas; for the body, bondages snap; / for the body, self-offerings — mokṣa is gained.
देहे सकळामधें उत्तमु । देहीं राहिला आत्मारामु ।
सकळां घटीं पुरुषोत्तमु । विवेकी जाणती
dehe sakaḷāmadhem uttamu | dehīm rāhilā ātmārāmu |
sakaḷām ghaṭīm puruṣottamu | vivekī jāṇatī
Body is excellent among all; in body Ātmārāma has dwelt; / in every vessel Puruṣottama — the vivekīs know.
देह्याकरितां नाना कीर्ती । अथवा नाना अपकीर्ती ।
देह्याकरितां होती जाती । अवतारमाळिका
dehyākaritām nānā kīrtī | athavā nānā apakīrtī |
dehyākaritām hotī jātī | avatāramāḷikā
For the body, various kīrti; or various apakīrti; / for the body come-and-go — avatāra-garlands.
देह्याकरितां नाना भ्रम । देह्याकरितां नाना संभ्रम ।
देह्याचेन उत्तमोत्तम । भोगिती पदें
dehyākaritām nānā bhrama | dehyākaritām nānā sambhrama |
dehyācena uttamottama | bhogitī padem
For the body, various bhramas; for the body, various pomps; / by the body, the supreme of supreme — positions are enjoyed.
देह्याकरितां सकळ कांहीं । देह्याविण कांहीं नाहीं ।
आत्मा विरे ठाईं ठाईं । नव्हताच जैसा
dehyākaritām sakaḷa kāmhīm | dehyāviṇa kāmhīm nāhīm |
ātmā vire ṭhāīm ṭhāīm | navhatāca jaisā
For the body, everything; without the body, nothing; / Ātman dissolves in various places — as if never was.
देहे परलोकींचें तारूं । नाना गुणांचा गुणागरु ।
नाना रत्नांचा विचारु । देह्याचेनी
dehe paralokīmcem tārūm | nānā guṇāmcā guṇāgaru |
nānā ratnāmcā vicāru | dehyācenī
Body is other-world's raft; the treasury of various virtues; / the consideration of various gems — by the body.
देह्याचेन गायेनकळा । देह्याचेन संगीतकळा ।
देह्याचेन अंतर्कळा । ठाईं पडे
dehyācena gāyenakaḷā | dehyācena samgītakaḷā |
dehyācena amtarkaḷā | ṭhāīm paḍe
By body, singing-art; by body, samgīta-art; / by body, antaḥ-kalā (inner-art) — falls into place.
देहे ब्रह्मांडाचें फळ । देहे दुल्लभचि केवळ ।
परी या देह्यास निवळ । उमजवावें
dehe brahmāmḍācem phaḷa | dehe dullabhaci kevaḷa |
parī yā dehyāsa nivaḷa | umajavāvem
Body is the fruit of the brahmāṇḍa; body is purely rare; / but to this body clearly — should be brought understanding.
देह्याकरितां लहनथोर । करिती आपुलाले व्यापार ।
त्याहिमधें लाहानथोर । कितीयेक
dehyākaritām lahanathora | karitī āpulāle vyāpāra |
tyāhimadhem lāhānathora | kitīyeka
For the body, small-and-great — do their own business; / among them small-and-great — several.
जे जे देहे धरुनी आले । ते ते कांहीं करून गेले ।
हरिभजनें पावन जाले । कितीयेक
je je dehe dharunī āle | te te kāmhīm karūna gele |
haribhajanem pāvana jāle | kitīyeka
Those who came holding body — they did something and went; / by Hari-bhajana became pāvana — several.
अष्टधा प्रकृतीचें मूळ । संकल्परूपचि केवळ ।
नाना संकल्पें देहेफळ । घेऊन आलें
aṣṭadhā prakṛtīcem mūḷa | samkalparūpaci kevaḷa |
nānā samkalpem dehephaḷa | gheūna ālem
The root of aṣṭadhā-prakṛti — is purely samkalpa-form; / by various samkalpas, body-fruit — has come bearing.
हरिसंकल्प मुळीं होता । तोचि फळीं पाहावा आतां ।
नाना देह्यांतरीं तत्वता । शोधितां कळे
harisamkalpa muḷīm hotā | toci phaḷīm pāhāvā ātām |
nānā dehyāmtarīm tatvatā | śodhitām kaḷe
Hari-samkalpa was at root; that itself in the fruit — should be seen now; / in various bodies truly — on searching, known.
वेलाचे मुळीं बीज । उदकरूप वेली समज ।
पुढें फळामधें बीज । मुळींच्या अंशें
velāce muḷīm bīja | udakarūpa velī samaja |
puḍhem phaḷāmadhem bīja | muḷīmcyā amśem
The seed in the root of the vine; the vine as water-form, understand; / ahead in the fruit the seed — with portion of the root.
मुळाकरितां फळ येतें । फळाकरितां मूळ होतें ।
येणेंकरितां होत जातें । भूमंडळ
muḷākaritām phaḷa yetem | phaḷākaritām mūḷa hotem |
yeṇemkaritām hota jātem | bhūmamḍaḷa
For the root, fruit comes; for the fruit, root becomes; / by this, comes-and-goes — the earth-globe.
असो कांहीं येक करणें । कैसें घडे देह्याविणें ।
देहे सर्थकीं लावणें । म्हणिजे बरें
aso kāmhīm yeka karaṇem | kaisem ghaḍe dehyāviṇem |
dehe sarthakīm lāvaṇem | mhaṇije barem
So something must be done; how does it happen without body? / Body in fulfillment be put — that is good.
आत्म्याकरितां देहे जाला । देह्याकरितां आत्मा तगला ।
उभययोगें उदंड चालिला । कार्यभाग
ātmyākaritām dehe jālā | dehyākaritām ātmā tagalā |
ubhayayogem udamḍa cālilā | kāryabhāga
For Ātmā, body was made; by body, Ātmā endured; / by both-together — abundantly proceeded — the work.
चोरून गुप्तरूपें करावें । तें आत्मयासी पडे ठावें ।
कर्तुत्व याचेन स्वभावें । सकळ कांहीं
corūna guptarūpem karāvem | tem ātmayāsī paḍe ṭhāvem |
kartutva yācena svabhāvem | sakaḷa kāmhīm
What is done hidden in secret — that becomes known to Ātmā. / Doership is its svabhāva — everything.
देह्यामधें आत्मा असतो । देहे पूजितां आत्मा तोषतो ।
देहे पीडितां आत्मा क्षोभतो । प्रत्यक्ष आतां
dehyāmadhem ātmā asato | dehe pūjitām ātmā toṣato |
dehe pīḍitām ātmā kṣobhato | pratyakṣa ātām
In body, Ātmā dwells; on worshipping body, Ātmā is pleased; / on paining body, Ātmā is disturbed — directly, now.
देह्यावेग्ळी पूजा पावेना । देह्याविण पूजा फावेना ।
जनीं जनार्दन म्हणोनी जना । संतुष्ट करावें
dehyāvegḷī pūjā pāvenā | dehyāviṇa pūjā phāvenā |
janīm janārdana mhaṇonī janā | samtuṣṭa karāvem
Apart from body, pūjā does not reach; without body, pūjā does not happen; / saying 'Janārdana in people' — to people — should please.
उदंड प्रगटला विचार । धर्मस्थापना तदनंतर ।
तेथेंच पूजेस अधिकार । पुण्यशरीरीं
udamḍa pragaṭalā vicāra | dharmasthāpanā tadanamtara |
tethemca pūjesa adhikāra | puṇyaśarīrīm
Abundant consideration manifested; dharma-establishment thereafter; / there itself is adhikāra for pūjā — in puṇya-body.
सगट भजन करूं येतें । तरी मूर्खपण आंगीं लागतें ।
गाढवासी पूजितां कळतें । काये त्याला
sagaṭa bhajana karūm yetem | tarī mūrkhapaṇa āmgīm lāgatem |
gāḍhavāsī pūjitām kaḷatem | kāye tyālā
If bhajana could be done indiscriminately — then foolishness attaches; / worshipping a donkey — what does it know?
पूज्य पूजेसी अधिकार । उगेचि तोषवावे इतर ।
दुखऊं नये कोणाचें अंतर । म्हणिजे बरें
pūjya pūjesī adhikāra | ugeci toṣavāve itara |
dukhaūm naye koṇācem amtara | mhaṇije barem
Worthy has adhikāra for pūjā; uselessly others should just be pleased; / should not hurt anyone's interior — that is good.
सकळ जगदांतरींचा देव । क्षोभता राहाव्या कोठें ठाव ।
जनावेगळा जनास उपाव । आणीक नाहीं
sakaḷa jagadāmtarīmcā deva | kṣobhatā rāhāvyā koṭhem ṭhāva |
janāvegaḷā janāsa upāva | āṇīka nāhīm
Deva in all jagad-antaras; angered, where to remain? / Apart from people, for people — there is no other means.
परमेश्वराचे अनंत गुण । मनुष्यें काये सांगावी खूण ।
परंतु अध्यात्मग्रंथश्रवण । होतां उमजे
parameśvarāce anamta guṇa | manuṣyem kāye sāmgāvī khūṇa |
paramtu adhyātmagramthaśravaṇa | hotām umaje
Parameśvara's endless virtues; what signs can humans tell? / But by adhyātma-grantha-śravaṇa — becomes understood.
