मूळमाया नस्तां चंचळ । निर्गुण ब्रह्म तें निश्चळ ।
जैसें गगन अंतराळ । चहुंकडे
mūḷamāyā nastām camcaḷa | nirguṇa brahma tem niścaḷa |
jaisem gagana amtarāḷa | cahumkaḍe
Without mūla-māyā's cañcala, nirguṇa Brahma is niścala; / like the sky the firmament — on every side.
दृश्य आलें आणि गेलें । परी तें ब्रह्म संचलें ।
जैसें गगन कोंदाटलें । चहुंकडे
dṛśya ālem āṇi gelem | parī tem brahma samcalem |
jaisem gagana komdāṭalem | cahumkaḍe
Dṛśya came and went; yet that Brahma pervaded; / like the sky filled — on every side.
जिकडे पाहावें तिकडे अपार । कोणेकडे नाहीं पार ।
येकजिनसी स्वतंत्र । दुसरें नाहीं
jikaḍe pāhāvem tikaḍe apāra | koṇekaḍe nāhīm pāra |
yekajinasī svatamtra | dusarem nāhīm
Wherever seen, it is endless; on no side is there an end; / one-form, independent — no second.
ब्रह्मांडावरतें बैसावें । अवकाश भकास अवलोकावें ।
तेथें चंचळ व्यापकाच्या नांवें । सुन्याकार
brahmāmḍāvaratem baisāvem | avakāśa bhakāsa avalokāvem |
tethem camcaḷa vyāpakācyā nāmvem | sunyākāra
Sit above the brahmāṇḍa; observe the space, the emptiness; / there in the name of 'cañcala pervading' — is śūnyākāra.
दृश्य विवेकें काढिलें । मग परब्रह्म कोंदाटलें ।
कोणासीच अनुमानलें । नाहीं कदा
dṛśya vivekem kāḍhilem | maga parabrahma komdāṭalem |
koṇāsīca anumānalem | nāhīm kadā
Dṛśya was removed by vivek; then para-brahma became packed; / never inferred — by anyone.
अधोर्ध पाहातां चहुंकडे । निर्गुण ब्रह्म जिकडे तिकडे ।
मन धांवेल कोणेकडे । अंत पाहावया
adhordha pāhātām cahumkaḍe | nirguṇa brahma jikaḍe tikaḍe |
mana dhāmvela koṇekaḍe | amta pāhāvayā
On looking up-and-down on every side; nirguṇa Brahma is everywhere; / where will mind run — to see the end?
दृश्य चळे ब्रह्म चळेना । दृश्य कळे ब्रह्म कळेना ।
दृश्य आकळे ब्रह्म आकळेना । कल्पनेसी
dṛśya caḷe brahma caḷenā | dṛśya kaḷe brahma kaḷenā |
dṛśya ākaḷe brahma ākaḷenā | kalpanesī
Dṛśya moves, Brahma does not move; dṛśya is known, Brahma not known; / dṛśya is grasped, Brahma not grasped — by kalpanā.
कल्पना म्हणिजे कांहींच नाहीं । ब्रह्म दाटले ठाईंचा ठाईं ।
वाक्यार्थ विवरत जाई । म्हणिजे बरें
kalpanā mhaṇije kāmhīmca nāhīm | brahma dāṭale ṭhāīmcā ṭhāīm |
vākyārtha vivarata jāī | mhaṇije barem
Kalpanā means 'nothing at all'; Brahma is packed at the very place; / continue examining the meaning of the sentence — that is good.
परब्रह्मायेवढें थोर नाहीं । श्रवणापरतें साधन नाहीं ।
कळल्याविण कांहींच नाहीं । समाधान
parabrahmāyevaḍhem thora nāhīm | śravaṇāparatem sādhana nāhīm |
kaḷalyāviṇa kāmhīmca nāhīm | samādhāna
Nothing great as para-brahma; no sādhana greater than śravaṇa; / without knowing, nothing — is samādhāna.
पिप्लीकामार्गें हळु हळु घडे । विहंगमें फळासी गांठी पडे ।
साधक मननीं पवाडे । म्हणिजे बरें
piplīkāmārgem haḷu haḷu ghaḍe | vihamgamem phaḷāsī gāmṭhī paḍe |
sādhaka mananīm pavāḍe | mhaṇije barem
The ant-path happens slowly-slowly; in the bird-path, meeting the fruit; / the sādhaka expands in manana — that is good.
परब्रह्मासारिखें दुसरें । कांहींच नाहीं खरें ।
निंदा आणि स्तुतिउत्तरें । परब्रह्मीं नाहीं
parabrahmāsārikhem dusarem | kāmhīmca nāhīm kharem |
nimdā āṇi stutiuttarem | parabrahmīm nāhīm
Like para-brahma is nothing; truly nothing else; / slander and praise-answers — are not in para-brahma.
ऐसे परब्रह्म येकजिनसी । कांहीं तुळेना तयासी ।
मानुभव पुण्यरासी । तेथें पवाडती
aise parabrahma yekajinasī | kāmhīm tuḷenā tayāsī |
mānubhava puṇyarāsī | tethem pavāḍatī
Such is para-brahma, one-form; nothing compares to it; / the mahānubhāva puṇya-heap — there they expand.
चंचळें होते दुःखप्राप्ती । निश्चळायेवडी नाहीं विश्रांती ।
निश्चळ प्रत्ययें पाहाती । माहानुभाव
camcaḷem hote duḥkhaprāptī | niścaḷāyevaḍī nāhīm viśrāmtī |
niścaḷa pratyayem pāhātī | māhānubhāva
In cañcala, sorrow-attainment; no rest equal to niścala; / in niścala they see by pratyaya — the mahānubhāvas.
मुळापासून शेवटवरी । विचारणा केलीच करी ।
प्रत्ययाचा निश्चयो अंतरीं । तयासीच फावे
muḷāpāsūna śevaṭavarī | vicāraṇā kelīca karī |
pratyayācā niścayo amtarīm | tayāsīca phāve
From root to end, examination done-and-redone; / the certainty of pratyaya within — is found by him alone.
कल्पनेचि सृष्टी जाली । त्रिविध प्रकारें भासली ।
तिक्षण बुद्धीनें आणिली । पाहिजे मना
kalpaneci sṛṣṭī jālī | trividha prakārem bhāsalī |
tikṣaṇa buddhīnem āṇilī | pāhije manā
Kalpanā's sṛṣṭi happened; appeared in three-fold way; / by sharp buddhi should be brought — to mind.
मूळमायेपासून त्रिगुण । अवघें येकदेसी लक्षण ।
पांचा भूतांचा ढोबळा गुण । दिसत आहे
mūḷamāyepāsūna triguṇa | avaghem yekadesī lakṣaṇa |
pāmcā bhūtāmcā ḍhobaḷā guṇa | disata āhe
From mūla-māyā the tri-guṇas; all are localized marks; / the coarse guṇa of five elements — appears.
पृथ्वीपासून च्यारी खाणी । चत्वार वेगळाली करणी ।
सकळ सृष्टीचि चाली येथुनी । पुढें नाहीं
pṛthvīpāsūna cyārī khāṇī | catvāra vegaḷālī karaṇī |
sakaḷa sṛṣṭīci cālī yethunī | puḍhem nāhīm
From pṛthvī, four wombs; four distinct doings; / all sṛṣṭi's course is from here — nothing beyond.
सृष्टीचें विविध लक्षण । विशद करूं निरूपण ।
श्रोतीं सुचित अंतःकर्ण । केलें पाहिजे
sṛṣṭīcem vividha lakṣaṇa | viśada karūm nirūpaṇa |
śrotīm sucita amtaḥkarṇa | kelem pāhije
The sṛṣṭi's three-fold mark — let us make clear nirūpaṇa; / listeners, alert antaḥkaraṇa — should be made.
मूळमाया जाणीवेची । मुळीं सूक्ष्म कल्पनेची ।
जैसी स्थिती परे वाचेची । तद्रूपचि ते
mūḷamāyā jāṇīvecī | muḷīm sūkṣma kalpanecī |
jaisī sthitī pare vācecī | tadrūpaci te
Mūla-māyā is of knowing; at root of subtle kalpanā; / like the state of parā-speech — tad-rūpa itself.
अष्टधा प्रकृतीचें मूळ । ते हे मूळमायाच केवळ ।
सूक्ष्मरूप बीज सकळ । मुळींच आहे
aṣṭadhā prakṛtīcem mūḷa | te he mūḷamāyāca kevaḷa |
sūkṣmarūpa bīja sakaḷa | muḷīmca āhe
The root of aṣṭadhā-prakṛti — is this mūla-māyā alone; / subtle-form seed of all — is at root.
जड पदार्थ चेतवितें तें । म्हणौन चैतन्य बोलिजेतें ।
सूक्ष्म रूपें संकेतें । समजोन घ्यावीं
jaḍa padārtha cetavitem tem | mhaṇauna caitanya bolijetem |
sūkṣma rūpem samketem | samajona ghyāvīm
That which kindles inert objects — hence called caitanya; / should be understood by subtle-form signs.
प्रकृती पुरुषाचा विचार । अर्धनारीनटेश्वर ।
अष्टधा प्रकृतीचा विचार । सकळ कांहीं
prakṛtī puruṣācā vicāra | ardhanārīnaṭeśvara |
aṣṭadhā prakṛtīcā vicāra | sakaḷa kāmhīm
The consideration of prakṛti-puruṣa; Ardhanārī-Naṭeśvara; / the consideration of aṣṭadhā-prakṛti — all.
गुप्त त्रिगुणाचें गूढत्व । म्हणौन संकेत महत्तत्त्व ।
गुप्तरूपें शुद्धसत्व । तेथेंचि वसे
gupta triguṇācem gūḍhatva | mhaṇauna samketa mahattattva |
guptarūpem śuddhasatva | tethemci vase
The hidden subtlety of tri-guṇa; hence signalled mahat-tattva; / hidden-form śuddha-sattva — dwells there.
जेथून गुण प्रगटती । तीस गुणक्षोभिणी म्हणती ।
त्रिगुणाचीं रूपें समजती । धन्य ते साधु
jethūna guṇa pragaṭatī | tīsa guṇakṣobhiṇī mhaṇatī |
triguṇācīm rūpem samajatī | dhanya te sādhu
Where guṇas emerge — that is called guṇa-kṣobhiṇī; / understands the forms of tri-guṇa — blessed are those sādhus.
गुप्तरूपें गुणसौम्य । म्हणौनि बोलिजे गुणसाम्य ।
सूक्ष्म संकेत अगम्य । बहुतांस कैंचा
guptarūpem guṇasaumya | mhaṇauni bolije guṇasāmya |
sūkṣma samketa agamya | bahutāmsa kaimcā
Hidden-form, guṇa-mildness — hence called guṇa-sāmya; / subtle, signalled, unfathomable — whence to the many?
मूळमायेपासून त्रिगुण । चंचळ येकदेसी लक्षण ।
प्रत्ययें पाहातां खूण । अंतरीं येते
mūḷamāyepāsūna triguṇa | camcaḷa yekadesī lakṣaṇa |
pratyayem pāhātām khūṇa | amtarīm yete
From mūla-māyā, tri-guṇas; cañcala localized mark; / on examining by pratyaya, the sign — comes within.
पुढें पंचभूतांचीं बंडें । वाढलीं विशाळें उदंडें ।
सप्तद्वीपें नवखंडें । वसुंधरा हे
puḍhem pamcabhūtāmcīm bamḍem | vāḍhalīm viśāḷem udamḍem |
saptadvīpem navakhamḍem | vasumdharā he
Ahead, revolts of pañca-bhūtas; grew vast, abundant; / seven continents, nine sections — this Vasundharā.
त्रिगुणापासून पृथ्वीवरी । दुसर्या जिनसान्याची परी ।
दोनी जिनस याउपरी । तिसरा ऐका
triguṇāpāsūna pṛthvīvarī | dusaryā jinasānyācī parī |
donī jinasa yāuparī | tisarā aikā
From tri-guṇa to earth — second inventory's manner; / two inventories thereafter — hear the third.
पृथ्वी नाना जिनसाचें बीज । अंडज जारज श्वेतज उद्भिज ।
च्यारी खाणी च्यारी वाणी सहज । निर्माण जाल्या
pṛthvī nānā jinasācem bīja | amḍaja jāraja śvetaja udbhija |
cyārī khāṇī cyārī vāṇī sahaja | nirmāṇa jālyā
Earth is seed of various kinds; aṇḍaja, jarāyuja, svetaja, udbhija; / four wombs, four speeches naturally — were created.
खाणी वाणी होती जाती । परंतु तैसीच आहे जगती ।
ऐसे होती आणी जाती । उदंड प्राणी
khāṇī vāṇī hotī jātī | paramtu taisīca āhe jagatī |
aise hotī āṇī jātī | udamḍa prāṇī
Wombs, speeches happen-and-go; but the earth is as-it-is; / so happen and go — abundant creatures.
