The people whose fierce practice frightens you may be closest to the truth, and at the deepest level there is no separate me and you, only the One, so live honestly and call that One even once a day.
The verse
तम भज्याय ते बुरा जिकीर ते करे । सीर काटे ऊर कुटे ताहां सब डरे ॥१॥ ताहां एक तु ही ताहां एक तु ही । ताहां एक तु ही रे बाबा हमें तुम्हें नहीं ॥ध्रु.॥ दिदार देखो भुले नहीं किशे पछाने कोये । सचा नहीं पकडुं सके झुटा झुटे रोये ॥२॥ किसे कहे मेरा किन्हे सात लिया भास । नहीं मेलो मिले जीवना झुटा किया नास ॥३॥ सुनो भाई कैसा तो ही । होय तैसा होय । बाट खाना आल्ला कहना एकबारां तो ही ॥४॥ भला लिया भेक मुंढे । आपना नफा देख । कहे तुका सो ही संका । हाक आल्ला एक ॥५॥
Literal translation
Tama — bhajyāya — that wicked — jikira does — head cut, breast beats — there all fear. Tāhām ēka tū hī (refrain) — me-and-you no here. See dīdāra — don't be deluded — no one recognizes — true can't be held — false weeps falsely. Whoever calls mērā — gone with one — bhāsa — no mēlō-milē jīvanā — false destroyed. Listen brother — however you are, become so — eat the bread, say Allah one-time too. Well took bhēka, mute — see your nafa. Tuka says: that one's śankā — call Allah ēka.

A Hindavi-fakir-tāhām-ek-tū-hī-and-eat-bread-say-Allah-once abhang. Fourth of the Hindavi-fakir cluster. The deepest unity-claim. Six claims:

तम भज्याय ते बुरा जिकीर ते करे — सीर काटे ऊर कुटे ताहां सब डरे — tama bhajyāya — that wicked — jikira does — head cut, breast beats — there all fear. The opening-irony: (those whom) you call wicked — dojikira(zikr); they cut head, beat breast — there all fear. The seemingly-wicked Sufi-fakirs do the deepest jikr-practice; their austerities frighten others.

ताहां एक तु ही — हमें तुम्हें नहीं — tāhām ēka tū hī — me-and-you no here. The radical-tauhīd-claim: there — only You; me-and-you — no (here). Compare 0426mī mājī harapalēand 0407kharē-khōṭē navhē yāsi; same non-dual register, here in Hindavi-Sufi register. Hamēm tumhēm nahīm = I-and-you don't exist.

दिदार देखो भुले नहीं — सचा नहीं पकडुं सके — झुटा झुटे रोये — see dīdāra — don't be deluded — true can't be held — false weeps falsely. The true-cannot-be-held claim: see thedīdāra(Sight, Vision); don't be deluded; the true cannot be grasped (it has no graspable-form); the false weeps-falsely (fake-tears in fake-mourning). Truth-uncatchable; falsehood-fake-tears.

किसे कहे मेरा किन्हे सात लिया भास — नहीं मेलो मिले जीवना झुटा किया नास — whoever calls mine — gone with one — bhāsa — no mēlō-milē jīvanā — false destroyed. The no-mine-claim: whoever callsmērā(mine) — has gone-with-one(= has gone aside with thebhāsa/ illusion); nomēlō-milē jīvanā(no meeting-life); the false has destroyed. Mine-claim is illusion-following.

सुनो भाई कैसा तो ही होय तैसा होय — बाट खाना आल्ला कहना एकबारां तो ही — listen brother, however you are, become so — eat the bread, say Allah one-time too. The practical-instruction: however you are, become so (= don't pretend; be authentic); eat the bread (= live your life); sayAllahone-time at least. Authenticity + once-Allah is enough.

भला लिया भेक मुंढे आपना नफा देख — कहे तुका सो ही संका हाक आल्ला एक — well took bhēka, mute — see your nafa — Tuka says: that one's śankā — call Allah ēka. The closing: well-taken thebhēka(renunciate-form), mute — see yournafa(gain); Tuka says: that one'sśankā(doubt) — call out —Allah ēka(Allah-One). The mute-bhēka-renunciate sees the gain; doubt is dispelled by calling Allah-One.

For someone today
Don't be so quick to judge people whose intense spiritual practice looks strange or frightening to you, because their fierce devotion may come from real depth. At the deepest level of realization there is no separate me and you left standing, only the One. Truth cannot be grabbed and displayed, and fake sorrow is easy to spot because it performs itself loudly. Claiming anything as purely mine is really just following an illusion. So live honestly as you actually are, do the ordinary work of eating your bread and earning your living, and simply say the divine name at least once along the way.
