Literal translation
Gentle, sweet bāla-rūpa — that form from Kāḷī-time. Coming with cows and cow-herds — attached to Puṇḍalīka. This dhyāna of digāmbara — hands-on-waist, flowing. Standing-still by-not-knowing — stayed by love-of-bhakta. Not-knowing the-honor-of-boon — on-the-brick (viṭā), feet-equal, standing. Naturally hands-on-waist — dahī-bhāta in-the-bundle. Flute, shawm, gāñjivā at-back — staff-held at-that-time. Beautiful place, Chandrabhāgā — Pāṇḍuranga at-play. Bhīmā flows-southward — vision-looks-straight-ahead. To-save the-foolish-people — gave-promise to-Puṇḍalīka. Tuka says: Vaikuṇṭha-dweller — stayed at-bhakta's-side.

For someone today
Picture Panduranga exactly as he stands at Pandharpur: the same sweet, boyish form from Krishna's childhood, arriving with the cows and cowherds because Pundalik's love drew him there. He wears nothing but the sky, hands resting easily on his hips, feet planted evenly together on the brick Pundalik gave him, asking for no special honor and content simply to wait near his devotee. He carries a bundle of curd and rice for the road, with a flute, a shawm, and a shepherd's staff at his back, standing at the beautiful spot where the Chandrabhaga river bends south. He made this promise to save ordinary, unremarkable people, and true to it, the very dweller of Vaikuntha chose to stay at his devotee's side.
