What it means
A false-hope-fell-into-eddy-mithyā-abhimāna-fault-gaze-opened-otherwise-suffering-world-cries-out-no-death-awareness-greed-buddhi-no-turning-back-dies-hoarding-children-fight-Nārāyaṇa-not-remembered abhang. Miser-dies-hoarding-children-fight register. Four claims:
-
False-hope-eddy-claim. In the āśā (hope, expectation) of the laṭikā (the false-thing — perishable wealth, status, etc.) I had-fallen into the *vaḷasā (eddy, whirlpool — the samsāra-eddy that pulls one round-and-round); (I) became pātra (vessel / subject) of dōṣa by the *mithyā abhimāna (false self-pride). Fell-into-eddy-by-false-hope-and-mithyā-abhimāna*.
-
Gaze-opened-otherwise-suffering-world-cries-out-claim. The dṛṣṭi opened baravī (well, fortunately); otherwise, I was *kaṣṭī (in suffering); the sṛṣṭi (the world, the all-of-creatures) is ākrandatē (crying-out, lamenting) only by these *cēṣṭā (doings — the same false-hope-driven doings). Gaze-opened-fortunately; world-laments-by-these-very-doings*.
-
No-death-awareness-greed-no-turning-back-claim. No śuddhi (awareness, clear-knowledge) of maraṇa; the buddhi has-turned-toward (pravartalī) lōbha; the paratī (turning-back) — māghārī (return-back) — never happens. No-death-awareness; greed-buddhi; no-turning-back*.
-
Miser-dies-hoarding-children-fight-Nārāyaṇa-not-remembered-claim. Tuka says: (one) dies sāñcūni (hoarding) *dhana; leaves the pōrāmsī (children) to *bhāṇḍaṇa (quarrel) — over the inheritance; Nārāyaṇa is not (even) smarīlā (remembered) (in all of this). Dies-hoarding-leaves-quarreling-children-Nārāyaṇa-forgotten. (Stark closing-image of the mithyā-abhimāna miser: dies before-finishing-hoarding, leaves the children to-fight-over-the-pile; the Nārāyaṇa-smaraṇa* — which is the entire-point — was never-done.)

For someone today
This abhang names the miser-dies-hoarding-children-fight register:
-
False-hope made me fall into the eddy; mithyā abhimāna made me a vessel of fault. False-hope-eddy.
-
Gaze opened well; otherwise I was suffering; world cries-out by these doings. Gaze-opened.
-
No death-awareness; greed-buddhi; never turns-back. No-turning-back.
-
Dies hoarding wealth; children fight; Nārāyaṇa not even remembered. Miser's-end.
For today: the laṭikā-āśā (false-thing-hope) makes-one fall into the vaḷasā of *mithyā abhimāna; fortunately, the dṛṣṭi opens; otherwise, suffering — and the world ākrandatē by these very cēṣṭā; without maraṇa-śuddhi, the buddhi turns to lōbha and never-turns-back; one dies hoarding dhana, leaves children fighting, Nārāyaṇa never even-remembered.
This abhang is Tukaram's miser-dies-hoarding-children-fight-Nārāyaṇa-forgotten register — one of the most-stark dhana-warning statements. Compare 0834 twin-addictions-narka-mines (Tuka's mudra); same dhana-warning-position but here organized around eddy and miser's-end. The nāhīm Nārāyaṇa Tuka m says: smarīlā (Nārāyaṇa not even remembered) is the precise stark-warning closing*.
False-hope-eddy.
-
Gaze-opened.
-
No-turning-back.
-
Miser's-end.
Nāhīm Nārāyaṇa Tuka m says: smarīlā precise stark-warning closing.
