Give up chasing many things and hold firmly to one, since that single devotion is what breaks the cycle of rebirth and makes good use of the rare gift of a human life.

आतां कांहीं सोस न करीं आणीक । धरीन तें एक हें चि दृढ ॥१॥ जेणें भवसिंधु उतरिजे पार । तुटे हा दुस्तर गर्भवास ॥ध्रु.॥ जोडीन ते आतां देवाचे चरण । अविनाश धन परमार्थ ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे बरा जोडला हा देह । मनुष्यपणें इहलोका आलों ॥३॥

Sōsa — āṇīka — none. Eka — dṛḍha. Bhava-sindhu — pāra — garbha-vāsa — tuṭē. Dēva-caraṇa — avināśa dhana — paramārtha. Tuka says: dēha — barā jōḍalā — manuṣya-paṇē — iha-lōka.

For someone today
Tukaram resolves to give up chasing many desires and hold firmly to just one thing: devotion that will carry him across the ocean of worldly existence and free him from being born into the womb again and again. He will gather up God's feet as his true wealth, the one imperishable treasure of the spiritual path. Tuka says he has done well to obtain this human body, since it is in this human form that he has arrived in this world — a rare gift not to be wasted.
