Everyone around you may call you theirs and treat you as important, Tukaram says, but when death's hour arrives, none of that gives you a place to stand. Maya is false, and all the mind's busy scheming is just that: business. So let go of your pride and turn instead to worship Govinda. Even the color and beauty spread across forests and hills is really the work of the one divine power alone. Why weep in fear of the death that's coming? Foolish one, you've simply forgotten who you really are.

राजे लोक सब कहे तूं आपना । जब काल नहीं पाया ठाना ॥१॥ माया मिथ्या मनका सब धंदा । तजो अभिमान भजो गोविंदा ॥२॥ राना रंग डोंगरकी राईं । कहे तुका करे इलाहि ॥३॥ काहे रोवे आगले मरना । गंव्हार तूं भुला आपना ॥ध्रु.॥
Literal translation
Rāje-lōka āpanā — kāla ṭhānā. Māyā mithyā mana-dhandā — tajō abhimāna, bhajō Gōvinda. Rānā-ranga ḍōngara-rā'ī — ilāhi. Āgalē maraṇā — gamvhāra bhulā.
