Abhanga 2534

When you are truly weary of worldly life, ask directly for God's embrace to face mortality; staying anchored to that support makes even ordinary living feel good again.

When you feel worn out and ready to stop chasing the same old worldly concerns.
When the fear of death or loss feels like more than you can bear alone.
When you long intensely for a closeness that seems slow to arrive.

The verse

Literal translation

Won't look back now — jīva disgusted with samsāra. Come-from-front, embrace, Dātāra — kāla's call unbearable. Alert chitta will be on support — even playing will feel well. Tuka says: throat choked with longing — how doesn't it come near.

What it means

THE WON'T-LOOK-BACK + KĀLA'S-CALL-UNBEARABLE ABHANG.

[T]

For someone today
