Abhanga 2812

A useful santa-bheṭi-celebration prayer. The sants have come and placed feet on my head — by this I am qualified in both worlds. I will bow at the feet, roll at the feet — today the longing-fullness is fulfilled. All previous-puṇyas have become favorable — everything is auspicious — sant-meeting. I have become krta-krtya, Deva — I don't know sevā but the eye sees it. The verse permits a krta-krtya (life-purpose-fulfilled) recognition. The santa-bhēṭī is the auspicious-event that makes everything come-together.

Celebration of santa-bheṭi (sant-meeting)
Recognizing previous-puṇya-becoming-favorable at the sant-encounter
Krta-krtya (purpose-fulfilled) recognition

Vandīna pāule loḷena charaṇīI will bow at the feet — loḷena (roll, prostrate) at the feet; āji ichchhā-dhaṇī fiṭaīlatoday the ichchhā-dhaṇī (longing-fullness) will be fiṭaīla (paid-off, fulfilled). What it means

A short santa-bheṭi-celebration verse. Āle santa pāya ṭhevitī mastakī — yēhī ubhaya-lōkī saratā kelōmthe sants have come — they place (their) feet on my head — by this, I have been made qualified in both worlds. The image: sants placing-feet-on-the-bhakta's-headthe highest-blessing. Saratā (qualified, valid, current, having-standing) — the bhakta is now valid in both worlds.

The dhrūpada: vandīna pāule loḷena charaṇī — āji ichchhā-dhaṇī fiṭaīlaI will bow at the feet — roll at the feet — today the longing-fullness will be fulfilled. The full-prostration. Ichchhā-dhaṇī — the longing-fullnessfiṭaīla (will be paid-off, fulfilled). The long-yearning ends today.

The second verse: avaghīm pūrva-puṇye jālīm sānukūḷa — avaghē chi mangaḷa — santa-bhēṭīall previous-puṇyas have become favorable — everything is auspicious — sant-meeting. The accumulation of pūrva-puṇya (previous-merit) ripens into the santa-bhēṭī. Everything is now mangaḷa.

The close: krta-krtya jālōm Devā — neṇe pari sevā ḍoḷām dekhemI have become krta-krtya (purpose-fulfilled), Deva — I don't know sevā — but the eye sees (it). The bhakta is krta-krtya (the purpose-of-his-life accomplished). He doesn't claim to-know-sevā, but his eye sees-it (presumably, sees-it-already-happening-in-the-sant-meeting).
