Abhanga 3007
Jana-lōka pārikhē — the jana-lōka (people, community) have become pārikhē (strangers, distant); avaghe kele myām yāsāṭīm — I made all-(this) for yāsāṭīm (this cause = devotion-to-Lord).
The verse
जन लोक पारिखें । अवघें केलें म्यां यासाटीं ॥१॥
बैसलासी काढिलें । देहाचें मुळीं दिवाळें ॥ध्रु.॥
दिसताती ये वेळे । काय करूं विसंबोनि ॥२॥
कैसें व्हावें आतां । इतकियाउपरी ॥३॥
Literal translation
Jana-lōka pārikhē — the jana-lōka (people, community) have become pārikhē (strangers, distant); avaghe kele myām yāsāṭīm — I made all-(this) for yāsāṭīm (this cause = devotion-to-Lord). Baisalāsī kāḍhile — (you) sat-(here)-and-took-out; dehāñce muḷī divāḷe — the mūḷī divāḷe (root-bankruptcy) of the deha (body). Disatātī ye veḷe — (they) are seen at-this-time; kāya karūm visambōnī — what shall I do, visambōnī (forgetting)? Kaise hvāve ātām — how shall (it) be now; itakiyā uparī — above this-much (already-undergone)?
What it means
A short 4-verse helpless-grief verse. NON-Tukārām (by cluster-context).
The bhakta-brother laments: all-our-relations-and-people-have-become-strangers; I made everything-into-this for-the-Lord's-sake; the Lord-sat-here-and-took-out-the-body's-root (= the family-foundation); how-can-things-be-now after-all-this?
For someone today
Kānhōbā's-helpless-grief. The people have become strangers — I made all-(this) for this cause. (You) sat and took out — the root-bankruptcy of the body. (They) are seen at-this-time — what shall I do, forgetting? How shall (it) be now — above this-much? The verse permits the bhakta's-helpless-cry after-everything-is-lost.
