Abhanga 3163
A long-awaited inner resolution can arrive all at once, releasing accumulated exhaustion and outward performance, and settling the mind in deep peace.
The verse
बहुतां दिसांची आजि जाली भेटी । जाली होती तुटी काळगती ॥१॥
येथें सावकासें घेईंन ते धणी । गेली अडचणी उगवोनि ॥ध्रु.॥
बहु दुःख दिलें होतें घरीं कामें । वाढला हा श्रमश्रमें होता ॥२॥
बहु दिस होता पाहिला मारग । क्लेशाचा त्या त्याग आजि जाला ॥३॥
बहु होती केली सोंगसंपादणी । लौकिकापासूनि निर्गमलें ॥४॥
तुका म्हणे येथें जालें अवसान । परमानंदीं मन विसावलें ॥५॥
Literal translation
V1: Bahutām disāñcī āji jālī bheṭī, jālī hōtī tuṭi kāḷa-gatī — after many days, today bheṭī; the tuṭi-of-kāḷa-gati had-(been-long). V2 (dhr.): Yethe sāvakāse gheīmna te dhaṇī, gelī aḍachaṇī ugavōnī — here, slowly I'll-take that dhaṇī; aḍachaṇa is cleared. V3: Bahu duḥkha dile hōte gharīm kāme, vāḍhalā hā śrama-śramem hōtā — much duḥkha by house-work, śrama-on-śrama grew. V4: Bahu disa hōtā pāhilā māraga, kleśāñcā tyā tyāga āji jālā — many days watched this path; the tyāga of kleśa happened today. V5: Bahu hōtī kelī sōnga-sampādaṇī, laukikāpāsūnī nirgamalē — many sōnga-sampādaṇī done; (now) departed from laukika. V6: Tukā mhaṇe yethe jāle avasāna, paramānamdīm mana visāvalē — Tukā says: here, avasāna; mana rested in paramānanda.

For someone today
After many days of waiting, the meeting Tukaram longed for has finally happened, and the long separation caused by time is over. He says he will now take his fill slowly and unhurried, because the obstruction has cleared. He recalls how much suffering the daily grind of housework caused, how it piled exhaustion on exhaustion, and how for many days he watched this path before finally, today, giving up that distress. He had performed many roles and outward shows for the sake of appearances, but now he has stepped away from ordinary social life altogether, and his mind has settled into deep, resolved peace.
मराठी: अनेक दिवसांच्या प्रतीक्षेनंतर, तुकारामांना हवी असलेली भेट अखेर घडली आहे, आणि काळाने आणलेला दीर्घ विरह संपला आहे. ते म्हणतात की आता आपण निवांतपणे, घाई न करता ही तृप्ती घेणार आहोत, कारण अडचण दूर झाली आहे. रोजच्या घरकामाने किती दुःख दिले, कसे थकवा-वर-थकवा साठत गेला, आणि अनेक दिवस या वाटेकडे पाहत राहिल्यानंतर आज अखेर तो त्रास सोडून दिला, हे ते आठवतात. लोकांसमोर दाखवण्यासाठी त्यांनी अनेक सोंगे वठवली होती, पण आता ते सामान्य सामाजिक व्यवहारापासून पूर्णपणे दूर झाले आहेत, आणि त्यांचे मन खोल, स्थिर शांततेत विसावले आहे.
