Abhanga 3162

Tukaram describes a childlike petition to Vitthal: what he had held only in his mind, his eyes now actually see, and his longing has come to fruit. He plans to ask for little treats with pure delight, the way a child asks a doting parent, confident that Vithoba will indulge and fulfill his heart's longing. धरिलीं जीं होतीं चित्तीं । डोळां तीं च दिसती ॥१॥ आलें आवडीस फळ । जालें कारण सकळ ॥ध्रु.॥ घेईंन भातुकें । मागोनियां कवतुकें ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे लाड । विठोबा पुरवील कोड ॥३॥

Literal translation

Dharilīm jīm hōtīm chittīm — what was held in chitti; ḍōḷām tīm chi disatī — eyes see those. Āle āvaḍīsa phaḷa — āvaḍī has fruit; jāle kāraṇa sakaḷa — kāraṇa entirely-fulfilled. Gheīmna bhātuke — will take bhātuke; māgōnīyām kavatuke — asking with delight. Tukā mhaṇe lāḍa — Tukā says: lāḍa; Viṭhōbā puravīla kōḍa — Viṭhōbā fulfills kōḍa.
