Real connection does not require negotiation. Magnet-and-iron, moon-and-lotus — what is meant for you reaches you without a sent message. The same string that pulls you is what is pulling from the other side. Surrender to the attraction.
The verse
Literal translation
Chittāchā chāḷaka — tyāchem ubhaya sūtra ēka — the chāḷaka of the chitta — his ubhaya-sūtra is one. Nāchavitēm nānā-chhandēm — sukhē āpulyā vinōdē — (he) makes (it) dance in many chhandas — in his sukha, by his vinōda. Chandra kamaḷaṇī — nāhīm dhāḍīta sāngōni — moon and kamaḷaṇī (lotus-cluster) — (do) not send (messenger) telling. Tukā mhaṇe uṭhī — lōha chumbakāchē drṣṭī — Tukā says: (the iron) rises at the magnet's drṣṭi.
What it means
A 4-verse text on the one string that binds two sides. The Lord is the puppet-master chāḷaka of the chitta — and the same string connects both ends (jīva and the seeking, lover and beloved). The two beautiful illustrations: chandra and kamaḷaṇī (the night-blooming lotus that opens at moonrise) — no message is required, the attraction is the message. Iron rises at the magnet's glance.
For someone today
