The verse
भक्तवत्सल दिनानाथ । तिहीं लोकीं ज्याची मात ॥१॥
तो हा पुंडलिकासाठीं । आला उभा वाळवंटीं ॥ध्रु.॥
गर्भवास धरी । अंबॠषीचा कैवारी ॥२॥
सकळां देवां अधिष्ठान । एका मंत्रासी कारण ॥३॥
तुका म्हणे ध्यानीं । ज्यासि ध्यातो शूळपाणी ॥४॥
Literal translation
Bhakta-vatsala dīna-nātha — tihīm lokīm jyāchī māta — bhakta-loving, dīna-nātha — of whom the talk is in the three worlds. To hā Puṇḍalikāsāṭhīm — ālā ubhā vāḷavamṭīm — he, for Puṇḍalika's sake, came and stood on the sand. Garbha-vāsa dharī — Ambarṣīchā kaivārī — (he) takes on garbha-vāsa — Ambarīṣa's kaivārī. Sakaḷām devām adhiṣṭhāna — ekā mantrāsī kāraṇa — the foundation of all Devas — the cause of the eka-mantra. Tukā mhaṇe dhyānīm — jyāsi dhyātō Śūḷa-pāṇi — Tukā says: in dhyāna — the one whom Śūla-pāṇi (Śiva) meditates upon.
What it means
A 4-verse compressed Paṇḍharī-glorification. Anchors: (1) Viṭṭhal-came-because-of-Puṇḍalika (foundational Paṇḍharpur-origin); (2) bhakti-driven incarnations — including garbha-vāsa for Ambarīṣa's sake; (3) cosmological inclusion — Śiva himself meditates on him. The pan-sectarian claim: even the Śūla-pāṇi (trident-bearer) is a meditator on Viṭṭhal.
