कइं तो दिवस देखेन डोळां । कल्याण मंगळामंगळाचें ॥१॥
आयुष्याच्या शेवटीं पायांसवे भेटी । कळिवरें तुटी जाल्या त्वरे ॥ध्रु.॥
सरो हें संचित पदरींचा गोवा । उताविळे देवा मन जालें ॥२॥
पाउलापाउलीं करितां विचार । अनंतविकार चित्ता अंगीं ॥३॥
म्हणउनि भयाभीत होतो जीव । भाकितसें कींव अटाहासें ॥४॥
तुका म्हणे होइल आइकिलें कानीं । तरि चक्रपाणी धांव घाला ॥५॥
दुःखाच्या उत्तरीं आळविले पाय । पाहणें तों काय अजून अंत ॥६॥

Tukārām's death-yearning. When will I see that day with (my) eyes — (the day) of the auspicious-amid-the-inauspicious? At the end of life, the meeting at (your) feet — when the body breaks quickly. Let accumulated-karma run out, the tangle in the hem; the mind has become impatient for Deva. Considering step-by-step — countless modifications in chitta and body. Therefore the jīva is afraid; I make a pleading-cry with loud-shout. If (this) is heard in (your) ear — Chakrapāṇī, rush-and-cast (yourself toward me). In an utterance of pain, I have called out (your) feet — what (more) to look for — even-now, (is there yet) an end? The verse permits the bhakti-death-yearning with extreme petition.
