Literal translation
Jeṇem hōya hita — what is hita; te tūm jāṇasī uchita — that you know as uchita. Maja nakō lāvūm taise — do not set me on such; vāmyām jāye aise pise — a madness that goes in vain. Dharitōsī sattā — you hold sattā; hōsī sakaḷa jāṇatā — you are the all-knower. Chaturāchyā rāyā — O king of the clever; angīkārāvem tukayā — take up Tukayā.
What it means
A 3-verse compressed surrender. You-know-my-uchita-hita; don't-let-me-go-vain-mad; you-have-sattā-and-omniscience; king-of-the-chatura — take-up-Tukayā.
For someone today
Tukārām's surrender: you-know-what-is-good-for-me-better-than-I-do; don't-let-my-madness-waste-the-life.
Where this applies
- Tukārām's take-up-Tukayā; king-of-chatura canonical surrender
- Compact angīkāra-petition
