Tukārām's purification-petition: clear-my-faults, dwell-inside.
When you feel weighed down by guilt and want it truly cleared away, not just managed
When anger or craving keeps overpowering you and you want something stronger to remove it
When you wonder whether your struggle is too small or too large for God to bother with
The verse
पाप ताप माझे गुणदोष निवारीं । कृष्णा विष्णु हरी नारायणा ॥१॥
काम क्रोध वैरी घालोनि बाहेरी । तूं राहें अंतरीं पांडुरंगा ॥ध्रु.॥
करिशील तरी नव्हे कांइ एक । निर्मिलें त्रैलोक्य हेळामात्रें ॥२॥
समर्थासि काय आम्हीं शिकवावें । तुका म्हणे यावें पांडुरंगा ॥३॥
Literal translation
Clear pāpa-tāpa-my-guṇa-dōṣa; Krṣṇa-Viṣṇu-Hari-Nārāyaṇa. Throw kāma-krodha out — you stay inside, Pāṇḍurangā. If you do, what's not one thing? Created trailokya by heḷā-mātra. What can we teach the samartha? Tukā: come, Pāṇḍurangā.
