धर्म रक्षावया साठीं । करणें आटी आम्हांसि ॥१॥ वाचा बोलों वेदनीती । करूं संतीं केलें तें ॥ध्रु.॥ न बाणतां स्थिति अंगीं । कर्म त्यागी लंड तो ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे अधम त्यासी । भक्ति दूषी हरीची ॥३॥
Literal translation
English: For protecting the dharma — we must make effort. Speak veda-niti by the voice; do (that which) the saints did. Without the state arising in the body — the one who abandons karma is a laṇḍa. Tuka says: such a low-one — undermines the bhakti of Hari.

What it means
A short dharma-protection / anti-charlatan abhang. Three claims:

धर्म रक्षावया साठीं — करणें आटी आम्हांसि — for protecting dharma — we must make effort. The dharma-protection imperative. Tukaram does not abandon the dharma-frame; he names dharma-protection as our (the bhaktas') task. Effort is required.

वाचा बोलों वेदनीती — करूं संतीं केलें तें — speak veda-nīti by the voice; do as the saints did. The protection-method. Two-fold: (a) vācā (vocal) — speak veda-nīti (the right-conduct as the vedas-teach); (b) karaṇa (action) — do as the saints did. The saints' practice is the operating-template; the veda-nīti is the content.

न बाणतां स्थिति अंगीं — कर्म त्यागी लंड तो — without the sthiti arising in the body — the one who abandons karma is laṇḍa (cheat). The crucial claim. Sthiti — the state, the established-condition — must arise in the body before karma can be abandoned. Premature karma-abandonment (= renouncing-action before the realization-state has arisen) is laṇḍa (cheat / charlatan / lazy-pretender). The abandonment must be downstream of sthiti, not upstream.

तुका म्हणे अधम त्यासी — भक्ति दूषी हरीची — Tuka says: such an adhama — undermines the bhakti of Hari. The closing critique. The premature-renouncer is an adhama (low-one), and his false-renunciation undermines the bhakti of Hari. The real-bhakti is harmed by the fake-renunciation that wears bhakti's clothes. Dharma-protection requires effort. Dharma rakṣāvayā sāṭīm — karaṇē āṭi. Don't think dharma takes care of itself; the bhaktas have a protection-role. Effort is required.

Two-fold method: speak veda-niti, do as saints did. Vācā bolōm veda-nītī, karūm samtīm kelē tē. (a) Speak right-conduct (according to the texts). (b) Practice as the saints did. Sthiti must arise before karma-abandonment. Na bāṇatām sthiti angīm — karma tyāgī laṇḍa tō. This is the precise-rule against premature renunciation. Sthiti — the state of realization, the established-condition — must arise in the body (= must be embodied, not merely understood) before karma can be abandoned. If you abandon karma before sthiti has arisen, you are a laṇḍa (cheat / lazy-pretender / charlatan). The abandonment must follow the state, not precede it.

Premature-renouncer undermines bhakti. Adhama — bhakti dūṣī Harīcī. The fake-renouncer is not just a-fake-himself; his fake-renunciation undermines the bhakti-of-Hari — because the public sees the fake and concludes bhakti-itself is fake. The fake-form damages the real-content's reputation.
For today: protect the dharma by effort (vocal-speaking + saint-practice); don't abandon karma before sthiti has arisen in the body; if you abandon prematurely, you are a laṇḍa, and your fake undermines real-bhakti. (Compare 244-252 anti-fake-religion cluster.)
This is important methodologically: it specifies the order of practice: karma first, sthiti next, abandonment of karma only after sthiti. The premature-abandonment-of-karma is the standard-trap.
