Viṭṭhal ferries you across for free and without conditions of wealth or caste; he only asks to be called, and he comes at once.
The verse
विठ्ठल नावाडा फुकाचा । आळविल्या साटीं वाचा ॥१॥ कटीं कर जैसे तैसे । उभा राहिला न बैसे ॥ध्रु.॥ न पाहे सिदोरी । जाती कुळ न विचारी ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे भेटी । हाका देतां उठाउठीं ॥३॥
Literal translation
Viṭṭhal — nāvāḍā — phukācā — āḷavilyā — exchange — vāca. Kaṭi-kara — just-so — ubhā — stands — na baisē. Doesn't see — sidōrī — jāti-kuḷa — not — consider. Tuka says: bhēṭī — hākā — uṭhā-uṭhīm.

Viṭṭhal acts like a ferryman who works for free; the only fare he asks is to be called by name. He stands ready, hands on his hips, never sitting down, always prepared to carry you across. He doesn't check whether you brought provisions, and he never asks about your caste or family background. The moment you call out to him, he comes running, without delay and without conditions. This verse says the divine is radically accessible, ready for anyone who simply reaches out.
