The verse

What it means
★★ THE canonical 5-verse Vārkarī-yearning text. In my heart let bhāva-love stay; Viṭṭhal in deep-sleep, waking, and dream. No other request from you — no kingdom, no wealth, no money. Tongue-joy by saying your Name in body. Your form everywhere see — give such love — don't keep the experience only in my heart (let it spread). The bondage of birth-death is cut from the root by this; let this be the chanda (rhythm): Hari-Govinda on the speech. What changes by darśana? Everything is filled with chaitanya; the separation of jīva-śiva happens by this meditation. Tukā says: by this very bhāva, we are saturated by your Name; let births happen with joy — of any caste, any way. The closing line — sukhē-hōta-janma — bhalatē-yātī-bhalataisī — is radical: let births happen of any caste, any way, joyfully — provided the Name and bhāva stay. A direct refutation of caste-anxiety in soteriology. Pair with 2755 (śūdra-vamśī-autobiography), 4096 (source-doesn't-matter).
