Abhanga 835

Grace clears the eye to see rightly, and sincere devotion, however simple, is sweet to God and brings settled peace.

What it means

A Kṛṣṇa-añjana-eye-cleansed-goods-selected-niropa-measure-cooing-prattle-sweet-fortunate-house-viśvāsa-work-corresponds-pot-fills-with-grace-sleep-at-self-station abhang. Eye-cleansed-by-Kṛṣṇāñjana register. Four claims:

1. कृष्णांजन — लोचन-सोज्वळ — वाण-निवडुन. Eye-cleansed-by-Kṛṣṇāñjana-claim. By theKṛṣṇa-añjana (Kṛṣṇa as eye-collyrium / Kṛṣṇa applied as the eye-paint), the lōcana (eye) became sōjvaḷa (cleansed-bright, radiant);by-that (cleansed-eye), the vāna (goods, items, the discernment-objects) were given nivaḍuni (selected, properly-discerned).Kṛṣṇāñjana-cleansed-eye-discerns-the-goods. (Image:Kṛṣṇaapplied asañjana(eye-medicine) gives the eye thesōjvaḷatā (clean-radiance) needed for true-discernment.)

2. निरोपाच्या-मापें-लडबड — त्याचं-त्याला-गोड-Nārāyaṇa. Niropa-measure-cooing-sweet-claim. With theniropa's māpa (the measure-of-the-message — the standard set by Hari's-instruction);(the bhakta) does laḍa-baḍa (cooing-prattle / loving-irrelevance — the babble-of-affection);that of-his (the bhakta's-cooing), to Him is gōḍa (sweet), O Nārāyaṇa. Cooing-prattle-by-niropa-measure-is-sweet-to-Nārāyaṇa. (Even the bhakta's-irrelevant-prattle, when within the niropa-māpa, is sweet to Hari.)

3. भाग्यवंतांच्या-घरीं-विश्वासें — कार्य-त्या-सरिसें. Fortunate-house-viśvāsa-work-corresponds-claim. In thebhāgya-vanta (fortunate one)'s house, with viśvāsa (faith);the kārya (work) happens tyā-sarisē (correspondingly, to-that-degree).Faith-in-fortunate-house-makes-work-happen-correspondingly. (Faith finds-its-correspondence: where there isviśvāsa, the work happens at-that-degree.)

4. Tuka: पोट-बरें-वोजा-भरे — निज-ठाव-निज-स्थानीं-निजा. Pot-fills-with-grace-sleep-at-self-station-claim. Tuka says: thepōṭa (belly, the inner-pot-of-the-self) fills barē vōjā (well, with-elegance, with-good-grace);sleep your nij-ṭhāva (self-place — native-rest) at the nij-sthāna (self-station — proper-station).Pot-fills-with-grace; sleep-at-self-station. (Closing-rest-petition: with the eye-cleansed and the work-corresponding, thepōṭafills with-grace and one cannijā(sleep) at thenij-sthāna.)

For someone today

When grace touches you, it's as if a divine medicine has been applied to your eyes, and suddenly you can see clearly and choose wisely what matters. Even your clumsy, halting words of devotion, offered within the bounds of faith, are sweet to God; there's no need for eloquence, only sincerity. Trust brings its own reward: in a house where there's real faith, the work of life falls into place to match that faith. And once that trust is there, you can finally rest easy, settled in your own place, your needs met with quiet grace.
