Refusing to bend or listen when corrected makes you more stubborn than a tree in the wind and less composed than a silent stone.
The verse
काय नाहीं लवत झाडें । विसरे वेडें देहभाव ॥१॥ जया न फळे उपदेश । धस ऐसा त्या नांवें ॥ध्रु.॥ काय नाहीं असत जड । दगड तो अबोलणा ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे कुचर दाणा । तैसा म्हणा डेंग हा ॥३॥
Literal translation
Jhāḍē — lavata. Vēḍa — dēha-bhāva — forgets. Upadēśa — phaḷē — none — dhasa. Jaḍa — dagaḍa — abōlaṇā. Tuka says: kucara dāṇa — ḍēnga.
मराठी: काय झाडें-सुद्धा लवत नाहींत? — वेडा देह-भाव विसरे. ज्याला उपदेश फळत नाहीं — त्या-नांवें ऐसा "धस" (अनभिज्ञ-तुकडा). जड (निर्जीव) काय नाहींत? — पण दगड अबोलणा (निदान-शांत). Tuka म्हणे: कुचर दाणा (सडलेला-कण) — त्या-सारखा "डेंग" (व्यर्थ-तुकडा) म्हणा हा.

What it means
A don't-trees-bend-foolish-forgets-deha-bhāva-one-who-doesn't-take-upadeśa-dhasa-stones-are-silent-rotten-grain-call-this-a-ḍēnga abhang. Insensitive-fool-named register. Three claims:

झाडें-लवत — वेडा-देह-भाव-विसरे — उपदेश-फळत-नाहीं — धस. Trees-bend-but-fool-doesn't-claim. Don't evenjhāḍēlavata (bend in the wind, yield)?—the vēḍa visarē the dēha-bhāva; the one to whomupadēśadoesn'tphaḷē; by-name, adhasa. Even-trees-bend; only-the-fool-doesn't. (The vēḍa who has visarē-dēha-bhāva (forgotten body-feeling-but-in-the-wrong-way, gone-numb-rather-than-melted) is worse than a tree. The dhasa is a name for an unbendable-block.)

Tuka: कुचर-दाणा — डेंग. Rotten-grain-ḍēnga-claim. Tuka says: akucara dāṇa— call this one aḍēnga. Rotten-grain; worthless-stub. (Pejorative-naming: kucara dāṇa = a grain that can't sprout, broken-or-worm-eaten; ḍēnga = a worthless-stump. Use these for the upadeśa-resistant fool.)

For someone today
Tukaram says that even trees bend in the wind, yet a fool refuses to yield or take correction to heart. Even lifeless stones know how to stay silent, but this fool keeps talking without wisdom. Tuka calls such a stubborn, unteachable person a rotten grain that will never sprout — utterly worthless.
मराठी: तुकाराम म्हणतात की झाडेसुद्धा वाऱ्यात वाकतात, पण मूर्ख माणूस मात्र वाकत नाही किंवा दिलेला उपदेश मनावर घेत नाही. निर्जीव दगडसुद्धा गप्प राहायला शिकतो, पण हा मूर्ख मात्र सतत बडबडत राहतो. तुका अशा हट्टी, उपदेशाला न जुमानणाऱ्या माणसाला कुजलेले धान्य म्हणतात - जे कधीच उगवणार नाही, पूर्णपणे निरुपयोगी.
