Being in the presence of a true saint is so joyful and healing that it turns an ordinary day into something greater than the biggest festivals.
The verse
धन्य आजि दिन । जालें संताचें दर्शन ॥१॥ जाली पापातापा तुटी । दैन्य गेलें उठाउठीं ॥ध्रु.॥ जालें समाधान । पायीं विसांवले मन ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे आले घरा । तो चि दिवाळीदसरा ॥३॥
Literal translation
Dhanya āji dina — santa-darśana. Pāpa-tāpa — tuṭī — dainya — uṭhā-uṭhīm. Samādhāna — pāyī — visāmvalē. Tuka says: gharā — divāḷī-dasarā.

What it means
A today-is-blessed-saint-darśana-pāpa-tāpa-cut-poverty-gone-mind-rested-saint-at-home-is-festival abhang. Saint-came-home-festival register. Three claims:

धन्य-दिन — संत-दर्शन — पाप-ताप-तुटी — दैन्य-गेलें. Dhanya-day-claim. Todaydhanya; santa-darśana; pāpa-tāpa-tuṭī; dainya gone uṭhā-uṭhīm.

समाधान — पायीं-विसांवलें-मन. Mind-rested-at-feet-claim. Samādhāna came; mana visāmvalē at pāyī.

Tuka: घरा-आले — दिवाळी-दसरा. Saint-came-festival-claim. Tuka says: when they came-home; that isdivāḷī-dasarā. Saint-at-home-equals-festival. (The two-greatest-Maharashtrian-festivals — dīpāvalī and daśarā — pale in comparison to a saint coming-home.)

For someone today
Some days are simply blessed — the day you get to be in the presence of a true saint is one of them. Tukaram says such a meeting cuts through accumulated suffering and guilt, and whatever poverty or misery you were carrying lifts almost instantly. A deep contentment settles in, and the mind finally comes to rest, as if resting at the saint's feet. When someone like that comes into your home, Tuka says, that day is itself Diwali and Dasara, the two greatest festivals rolled into one, because nothing external can match the joy of that presence.
मराठी: काही दिवस खरोखर धन्य असतात — खऱ्या संताचं दर्शन घडतं तो दिवस त्यापैकी एक आहे. तुकाराम महाराज म्हणतात, अशा भेटीने साचलेले पाप आणि ताप तुटून जातात, आणि मनावरचं दैन्य क्षणार्धात निघून जातं. मनाला खोल समाधान लाभतं, आणि जणू संताच्या पायाशीच मन विसावतं. असा कोणी घरी आला की तोच दिवस दिवाळी आणि दसरा असतो, असं तुकाराम महाराज म्हणतात — कारण त्या उपस्थितीच्या आनंदाशी बाहेरचा कुठलाही सण-उत्सव बरोबरी करू शकत नाही.
