Abhanga 2360

For today: no worry in the Viṣṇu-dāsas' village; Nārāyaṇa as treasure at home; cheap for all, supply for women-men-children; Gōvinda cultivated Gōvinda .

The verse

चिंता नाहीं गांवीं विष्णुदासांचिये । घोष जयजयकार सदा ॥१॥ नारायण घरीं सांठविलें धन । अवघे चि वाण तया पोटीं ॥ध्रु.॥ सवंग सकळां पुरे धणीवरी । सेवावया नारी नर बाळा ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे येणें आनंदी आनंदु । गोविंदें गोविंदु पिकविला ॥३॥

Literal translation

No worry in the village of Viṣṇu-dāsas — jayajayakāra-ghōṣa always. Nārāyaṇa stored as treasure at home — all wares in its belly. Cheap for all, supply to-fullness — for women, men, children to serve. Tuka says: by this, ānanda-in-ānanda — Gōvinda cultivated Gōvinda.

THE OPENING: chintā nāhīm gāmvīm Viṣṇu-dāsāñchiyē — ghōṣa jayajayakāra sadā — no worry in the village of Viṣṇu-dāsas — jayajayakāra-ghōṣa always. No-worry in-the-village of-the-Viṣṇu-dāsas; jayajayakāra-ghōṣa (victory-cry) always.

The treasure-at-home: Nārāyaṇa gharīm sāṭhavilē dhana — avaghē chi vāṇa tayā pōṭīm — Nārāyaṇa stored as treasure at home — all wares in its belly. Nārāyaṇa is-stored-as-dhana (treasure) at-home; all-wares (vāṇa) are-in-its-belly. The Lord-as-the-shop-of-all-goods.

The supply-for-all: savanga sakaḷām purē dhaṇīvarī — sēvāvayā nārī nara bāḷā — cheap for all, supply to-fullness — for women, men, children to serve. Savanga (cheap, accessible) for-all; supply to-fullness (dhaṇī); for-women, men, children to-serve.

THE CELEBRATED CLOSING: Tukā mhaṇē yēṇē ānandī ānandu — Gōvindē Gōvindu pikavilā — Tuka says — by this, ānanda-in-ānanda — Gōvinda cultivated Gōvinda. Pikavilā = cultivated, ripened. Gōvinda-cultivates-Gōvinda. The recursive-image — Gōvinda (Kṛṣṇa) cultivated/ripened the-Gōvinda-experience itself. (Compare Jñāneśvar's jṇānīñnē jṇāna khānē — the wise-eat-wisdom).
