Abhanga 2476

Nothing is too impossible or too inauspicious for God to transform, so bring your faults to him instead of waiting until you feel worthy.

When you feel your mistakes are too serious to bring before God
When you're stuck on a problem that feels completely impossible to fix
When you're ready to stop hiding your faults and simply hand them over instead

The verse

Literal translation

Nothing impossible for you — mountain to mustard-seed, king to pauper. Turning inauspicious into auspicious — not hard for you, Pāṇḍurangā. 16,000 wives — still Brahmacāri — feeding Durvāsa fastless — not surprising. Five-husbands' Draupadī as satī — doing pitṛ-śānti puṇya-dharma. Daśaratha's pāpas like brahma-hatyā — surprising you born in his womb. Munēśvara has no fault — when brought-forth, killings happen. Tuka says: what are my pāpas — I'm filling at your feet, Dēvā.

What it means

THE LORD-MAKES-INAUSPICIOUS-AUSPICIOUS + MULTIPLE PURĀṆIC-PARADOXES ABHANG. 6-verse Purāṇic-catechism.

The series of-paradoxes — each-example shows Kṛṣṇa's-power to-make-the-impossible-or-inauspicious-into-its-opposite:

  1. Kṛṣṇa as Brahmacāri-with-16,000-wives — paradoxical-marital-status
  2. Kṛṣṇa feeding-Durvāsa-fastless — making-the-hungry-rishi-feel-fed without-food (Mahābhārata episode)
  3. Pañca-bhratāra Draupadī as satī — five-husband-wife still pati-vratā
  4. Daśaratha's-brahma-hatyā-pāpas → still Rāma-as-son — pāpī-becomes-divinely-blessed
  5. Munēśvara has-no-fault — but Tukārām notes-killings-when-brought-forth

The closing-bhakti-claim: Tukā mhaṇē mājhē dōṣa tē kāyī — saratā tujhā pāyīm jālōm Dēvāwhat are my pāpas — I'm filling at your feet, Dēvā. If you-could-resolve all-these-Purāṇic-paradoxes, my-pāpas are-nothing. Tukārām's tour-of-Purāṇic-precedents to-claim that-the-Lord-can-clear-his-own-pāpas.

For someone today

For today: nothing impossible for you; Kṛṣṇa Brahmacāri with 16,000 wives ; Draupadī-pañca-bhratāra-still-satī ; Daśaratha's pāpas didn't stop Rāma's birth ; what are my pāpas at your feet .
