Abhanga 2519

For today: Gōpāḷā's-string makes one-jāti — anubhava removes doubt .

When you feel tired of the daily grind and start putting your trust in something beyond it

When you notice affection growing toward people who share your devotion rather than your background

When you remember a moment of real connection to steady yourself against doubt

The verse

तरि च हा जीव संसारीं उदास । धरिला विश्वास तुम्हां सोईं ॥१॥ एके जातीविण नाहीं कळवळा । ओढली गोपाळा सूत्रदोरी ॥ध्रु.॥ फुटतसे प्राण क्षणांच्या विसरें । हें तों परस्परें सारिखें चि ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे चित्तीं राखिला अनुभव । तेणें हा संदेह निवारला ॥३॥

Literal translation

Then jīva udāsa in samsāra — held trust toward you. Without one-jāti no kindred-feeling — Gōpāḷā's-string pulled. Prāṇa breaks at moment's forgetting — same mutually. Tuka says: kept anubhava in chitta — doubt removed.

What it means

THE ONE-JĀTI-KINDRED + GŌPĀḶĀ'S-STRING ABHANG.

The kindred-string: ēkē jātīviṇa nāhīm kaḷavaḷā — ōḍhalī Gōpāḷā sūtra-dōrī — without one-jāti no kindred-feeling — Gōpāḷā's-string pulled. Without same-jāti there's no kaḷavaḷā (kindred-affection); Gōpāḷā has-pulled the-sūtra-string (= we are now of his jāti).
