Literal translation
Tujhā bharavasā āmhām — phāra hōtā Puruṣōttamā — much trust we had in you, Puruṣōttama. Bhavasāgarasankaṭīm — tariśīla jagajeṭhī — in bhava-sāgara crisis — you will rescue (us), leader-of-the-world. Nāma ādityāche jhāḍa — tyāchā na paḍe ujeḍa — Name is the sun-tree — its uǰeḍa (radiance) does not fall (away). Silangaṇīche sōne — tyāsīm gāhāṇa ṭhevī kōṇa — Daśarā-festival gold — who pawns it. Tukā mhaṇe devā — brida sōḍūniyām ṭhevā — Tukā says: Deva — leave your brida (oath/insignia) and keep-it-aside.
What it means
A 4-verse trust-in-rescue text. We-trusted-much-Puruṣōttama; you-will-rescue-in-bhava-sāgara-crisis; Name-is-the-sun-tree-its-radiance-falls-everywhere; Daśarā-festival-gold (śilangaṇa-festival-aapṭā-leaves-as-gold) isn't-for-pawning; Lord-set-aside-your-brida-(of-patita-pāvana)-as-pledge. The śilangaṇī sōne is the ritual-gold of Vijayādaśamī (aapṭā-leaves treated as gold and exchanged) — a Marathi cultural-specific image.
