Wholehearted, undistracted devotion is powerful enough to draw the divine itself close, so intense sincerity is never wasted.
The verse
कां रे पुंड्या मातलासी । उभें केलें विठ्ठलासि ॥१॥
विस्त क्षीरसागरवासीं । आला उभा पंढरीसि ॥ध्रु.॥
भक्ती देखोनि निकट । देवें सोडिलें वैकुंठ ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे बळी । तूं चि एक भूमंडळीं ॥३॥
Literal translation
Why-Puṇḍya-mātalāsi — made-Viṭhṭhal-stand. Vista-kṣīra-sāgara-vāsī — came-stood-Paṇḍharī. Seeing-bhakti-close — Deva-abandoned-Vaikuṇṭha. Tukā: baḷī — you-alone-on-bhū-maṇḍaḷa.
What it means
A 3-verse Puṇḍalīka-bhakti-power text. Why are you, Puṇḍya, so exuberant — you made Viṭhṭhal stand (here)? The expansive one, the milk-ocean-dweller has come and stood at Paṇḍharī. Seeing your bhakti so close, Deva abandoned Vaikuṇṭha. Tukā says: powerful — you alone, on the earth-circle. The exuberant address: Puṇḍya-mātalā — Puṇḍalīka was so-intoxicated-with-bhakti that he managed-to-make-the-Lord-stand-and-wait. Vista-kṣīra-sāgara-vāsī: the Lord-of-cosmic-ocean is now-here-at-Paṇḍharī. Baḷī (powerful) — you alone on bhū-maṇḍaḷa: Puṇḍalīka is the strongest-bhakta on-earth. Pair with 4283 (Puṇḍalīka-FOUNDATIONAL-praise), 4371 (Puṇḍalīka-pinned-bhūta).

Tukaram marvels here at Pundalik, the devotee whose love was so intoxicating that it made Vitthal himself come and stand waiting at Pandharpur. The vast Lord who dwells in the cosmic ocean of milk left his own heavenly abode of Vaikuntha because he saw devotion so close and so real that he could not stay away. Tukaram calls Pundalik the truly powerful one on this whole earth, because his devotion did not just reach toward God, it actually drew God down to stand and wait for him. The lesson is about the astonishing pull of wholehearted, undistracted devotion, that it is strong enough to move the divine itself.
मराठी: तुकाराम इथे पुंडलिकाचे कौतुक करतात, ज्याची भक्ती इतकी तीव्र होती की तिने प्रत्यक्ष विठ्ठलालाच पंढरीत येऊन उभे राहायला भाग पाडले. क्षीरसागरात राहणारा तो व्यापक परमेश्वर आपले वैकुंठ सोडून आला, कारण त्याने इतकी जवळची, खरीखुरी भक्ती पाहिली की तो दूर राहूच शकला नाही. तुकाराम पुंडलिकाला या भूमंडळावरील खरा बलवान म्हणतात, कारण त्याची भक्ती केवळ देवाकडे झुकली नाही, तर तिने देवालाच स्वतःकडे येऊन उभे राहायला लावले. यातून हाच बोध मिळतो की मनापासून, विचलित न होता केलेल्या भक्तीची ओढ इतकी प्रबळ असते की ती परमेश्वरालाही हलवू शकते.
