Abhanga 466
Stop wandering from one pursuit to the next searching for satisfaction; gather with others, dance to one rhythm, serve the One, and return home to the root place you came from.
The verse
Literal translation
Come together — apply kājala — tela-phaṇī. Dīvāṇa-dvāra-stair — sit in morning — dance making phēra. This Sāhēba's giving — has come — no need vēḷō-vēḷām. Now why wander shop-to-shop with pāṭī? All jaṇī — mumḍhā their dhanī — dance one ghāī. Sukha came within reach — what cāḷā at one place. Tuka says: serve One — break cintā-māyā — give udgāra — go to muḷīcyā ṭhāya.

What it means
A come-together-dance-go-to-root-place abhang. Closing of the women-bhakta-dance cluster (462-466). Four claims:
-
The opening-gathering-image: come together, get prepared (kājala-kohl, oil-and-comb); sit at thedīvāṇa-dvāra-stair(the porch / threshold of the office / the deva's-court) in the morning; dance, makingphēra(rounds). Morning-gathered-bhakti-dance.
-
या साहेबाचें जालें देणें — वेळोवेळां न लगे येणें — आतां हाटीं काशासाठीं हिंडों पाटी दुकानें — this Sāhēba's giving has come — no need to come repeatedly — now why wander shop-to-shop with pāṭī? The Sāhēba's-giving claim: theSāhēba(Lord)'s giving has arrived; no need to come back over-and-over; now why wander thehāṭa(market) shop-to-shop with thepāṭī(vending-platter)? Receive the deva's-giving once; stop the petty-vending-life.
-
अवघ्या जणी मुंढा धणी नाचों एकें घाई — सरसावलें सुख कैसा चाळा एके ठायीं — all maidens — mumḍhā their dhanī — dance one ghāī — sukha came in reach — what cāḷā at one place. The one-master-and-many-maidens claim: alljaṇī(women-bhaktas) — themumḍhā(mute / silent-renunciate) is theirdhanī(master); let's dance with oneghāī(rhythm); thesukhahas come within reach; what (other)cāḷā(play) at one place? Communal-bhakti-dance with one master.
-
The closing-direction: let's serve the One; break (= sever) thecintā-māyā(worry-and-illusion); give theudgāra(utterance / shout) now; let's go to themuḷīcyā ṭhāya(root-place / origin-place). Final-direction: to the root-place.

For someone today
Tukaram invites everyone to gather together, get ready, and dance in a circle at God's own doorstep, treating devotion as something communal and joyful rather than solitary and grim. The gift you were seeking has already arrived, so there is no need to keep running from shop to shop, chasing one more thing that might satisfy you; you can stop searching and simply receive what's already been given. In this gathering everyone dances to the same rhythm, following the one who has let go of everything, because real joy is found together, in one place, not scattered across many pursuits. Tukaram closes by saying: serve the One, cut through your worry and illusion, cry out in devotion now, and return home to where you truly began.
