Literal translation

What it means

A short Pāṇḍuranga-as-mother abhang. Three claims:

1. पुरविली आळी — जे जे केली ते ते काळीं — fulfilled the āḷī — whatever made, at whatever time. The opening-claim: (Pāṇḍuranga) has fulfilled my āḷī (childlike-whim / impulsive-demand); whatever I made (= demanded), at whatever time. Childlike-whim-fulfilled.

2. माय तरी ऐसी सांगा — कृपाळुवा पांडुरंगा — mother — tell — kṛpāḷu Pāṇḍuranga. The deva-as-mother claim: tell (me where to find) such a mother — (like) the kṛpāḷu Pāṇḍuranga. Pāṇḍuranga is the mother who indulges every whim.

3. घेतलें नुतरी — उचलोनि कडियेवरी — once taken-up doesn't put down — lifts onto kaḍī. The mother-image: once she has taken up (the child), she doesn't put it down; lifts the child onto the kaḍī (hip). The kaḍiyēvarī-uchalōnī image — the iconic-mother-with-child carry.

4. तुका म्हणे घांस — मुखीं घाली ब्रम्हरस — Tuka says: grāsa in mouth — Brahma-rasa. The closing-claim: Tuka says: she puts a grāsa (mouthful / morsel) in the mouth — of Brahma-rasa (the essence of Brahman / immortality-juice). Brahma-rasa fed-as-baby-food.

This abhang names the Pāṇḍuranga-as-mother-fulfilling-whims register:

1. Pāṇḍuranga fulfills every āḷī* whenever made. Puravilī āḷī jē jē kelī tē tē kāḷīm. The deva fulfills the bhakta's-childlike-whims at the very-time they're made. Don't suppress the whim; let it be made*.

2. Tell (me) such a kṛpāḷu* mother. Māya tarī aisī sāngā — kṛpāḷu Pāṇḍurangā. The deva is the kṛpāḷu mother; no human-mother matches Pāṇḍuranga's-indulgence*.

3. Once taken up, doesn't put down — lifts onto the kaḍī*. Ghētalē nutarī — kaḍiyē-varī. The deva-mother, once she has taken up the bhakta, doesn't put down. The kaḍī-uchalōnī carry is the iconic-image. Permanent-care*.

4. Brahma-rasa fed as grāsa. Grāsa — Brahma-rasa. The food-she-feeds is Brahma-rasa — the immortality-essence. Bhakta-baby fed Brahma-rasa-milk*.

For today: let your āḷī (whim) be made; Pāṇḍuranga fulfills; recognize the deva-as-mother — kṛpāḷu beyond human-mother; once taken-up, the deva-mother doesn't put down; receive the Brahma-rasa as the deva-mother's-feed.

मराठी: ही ओवी Pāṇḍuranga-as-mother-fulfilling-whims register नाव सांगते:

1. Pāṇḍuranga प्रत्येक āḷī केव्हाही केली तरी fulfill करतो. पुरविली आळी जे जे केली ते ते काळीं. Bhakta च्या childlike-whims देव त्या-वेळेला fulfill करतो. Whim suppress नका; let it be made*.

2. अशी kṛpāḷu* मायी सांगा. माय तरी ऐसी सांगा — कृपाळुवा पांडुरंगा. Deva kṛpāḷu mother; Human-mother Pāṇḍuranga-indulgence ला match नाही*.

3. उचललं की खाली ठेवत नाही — kaḍī* वर lifts. घेतलें नुतरी — कडिये-वरी. Deva-mother, bhakta ला उचललं की खाली ठेवत नाही. Kaḍī-uchalōnī carry iconic-image. Permanent-care.

4. Brahma-rasa grāsa म्हणून feed. घांस — ब्रम्हरस. जे food ती feeds ते Brahma-rasa — immortality-essence. Bhakta-baby Brahma-rasa-milk fed*.

आज: तुमची āḷī (whim) made होऊ द्या; Pāṇḍuranga fulfill करतो; Deva-as-mother ओळखा — kṛpāḷu human-mother पलीकडे; Deva-mother उचललं की खाली ठेवत नाही; Brahma-rasa deva-mother च-feed म्हणून receive करा*.
