Tukaram asks God for nothing but good company and the chance to keep serving and remembering Him, refusing to ask for wealth or comfort.

For someone today
Tukaram addresses God as the parent of the helpless, the one who can dissolve sorrow and anxious attachment, and asks simply to be taken in. But notice what he actually requests: not wealth, not comfort, not power, only the company of good people and the chance to keep serving at God's feet so he never forgets Him. He asks for enough love and voice to praise God's qualities and to be freed of the obstacles in the way of that praise. He is explicit that he wants nothing else, no happiness, riches, or kingdom, because none of that would ever put a burden on God to give, only devotion itself is what he's after. He ends bowing with folded hands, simply asking that his inner ache be soothed.
