Do not let doubt harden your heart against grace, ask for something worthy of receiving it, and act now because life is too short to wait.

नको होऊं देऊं भावीं अभावना । या चि नांवें जाणा बहु दोष ॥१॥ मेघवृष्टी येथें होते अनिवार । जिव्हाळ्या उखर लाभ नाड ॥ध्रु.॥ उत्तमा विभागें कनिष्ठाची इच्छा । कल्पतरु तैसा फळे त्यासी ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे जिणें बहु थोडें आहे । आपुलिया पाहें पुढें बरें ॥३॥

For someone today
Tukaram warns that letting doubt or lack of faith creep into your devotion is itself a serious fault, not a small slip. He compares grace to rain: it falls abundantly and without limit, but if your heart is like stony, barren ground, that rain does no good and the benefit is lost. He then says the wish-fulfilling tree gives fruit according to what you actually ask for; even standing in the best possible place, if your wish is a small, low one, you only get a small, low fruit. Finally he reminds us that life is very short, so look ahead now and plan well for your own good, rather than waiting.
मराठी: तुकाराम म्हणतात, भक्तीत शंका किंवा अविश्वास येऊ देणं हा एक साधासुधा दोष नसून मोठा दोष आहे. ते कृपेची तुलना पावसाशी करतात: पाऊस भरपूर आणि विनाअट कोसळतो, पण जर मन खडकाळ, नापीक जमिनीसारखं असेल तर त्या पावसाचा काही उपयोग होत नाही आणि लाभ वाया जातो. पुढे ते सांगतात की कल्पवृक्ष तुम्ही जे मागाल तेच फळ देतो; अगदी सर्वोत्तम जागी उभं असूनही तुमची इच्छा लहान, क्षुद्र असेल तर मिळणारं फळही तेवढंच लहान असतं. शेवटी ते आठवण करून देतात की आयुष्य फार थोडं आहे, म्हणून वाट न पाहता आताच पुढचा विचार करून आपलं भलं साधून घ्या.
