What it means
A lamp-shows-ādi-madhya-anta-yet-yatna-yours-dāsatva-shows-storehouse-but-not-essence-upāya-destroys-sōsa-sattā-bala-to-anga-vacana-itself-works-while-sitting abhang. Lamp-storehouse-vacana-itself-works register. Four claims:
-
Lamp-shows-but-yatna-yours-claim. The dīpa (lamp) showed (me) ādi-madhya-anta (beginning-middle-end — the whole-temporal-span, or the whole spiritual-trajectory); but-this-itself is āpaṇāpē (your-own-side / your-own-effort); yatna (effort) — barā (well-done, good). The lamp may show, but it's your own well-applied effort that brought-the-light to where it could show. (Or: the lamp = guru/word; what is shown is the trajectory; but the yatna of seeking-and-walking is the bhakta's-own.)
-
Dāsatva-shows-storehouse-but-not-essence-claim. Through dāsatva (servant-hood, the attitude-of-being-servant — typical of bhakti), the dhanyā's (master's, owner's) bhāṇḍāra (storehouse, treasury) was-shown; but the sāra (essence, the substance-of-Hari) is-not from-here (= is not obtainable just from being-shown-the-storehouse). Servant-shown-storehouse-but-essence-elsewhere. (Important Vārkarī point: just becoming a dāsa and being-shown the bhāṇḍāra of God's-power isn't the sāra — the sāra is bhāva-itself, not the inventory.)
-
Upāya-destroys-sōsa-sattā-bala-comes-claim. By upāya (means / effort / spiritual-practice), all sōsa (longing-craving — restless-want) was nāsalā (destroyed); by sattā (the Sattā — the existence-as-presence-as-governance — the Hari-sattā), sattā-bala (the power-of-being-in-the-sattā) came-to-the-anga (the body, the very-self). Effort-destroys-craving; sattā gives sattā-bala. (The sattā — being-in-Hari's-rule — is what brings the bala (strength) into one's-very-anga.)
-
Vacana-itself-works-while-sitting-claim. Tuka says: (My) dṛṣṭi (gaze) is on the śiras (heads) of all; the vacana (word, the mere-uttered-word) alone does (the work), while just baisōniyām (sitting). Sit-and-the-vacana-itself-does-the-work. (Mature-Tuka's claim: he doesn't have to do anything beyond utter — the vacana, by-itself, sitting-still, does the work.)

For someone today
This abhang names the lamp-storehouse-and-vacana-itself-works register:
-
Lamp showed ādi-madhya-anta — but it's your own yatna, well-applied. Lamp-and-yatna.
-
Dāsatva shows the storehouse — but the essence isn't from-here. Storehouse-not-essence.
-
Upāya destroys sōsa; sattā-bala comes to the anga. Effort-and-sattā.
-
Gaze on all heads; vacana alone works while sitting. Vacana-itself-works.
For today: the dīpa may have shown the ādi-madhya-anta — but the well-applied yatna was yours; through dāsatva the bhāṇḍāra of the master may be shown — but the sāra doesn't come-from-the-storehouse; by upāya the sōsa (craving) is destroyed — but it is the sattā itself that brings sattā-bala into the anga; now: dṛṣṭi rests on all-heads; the vacana itself, sitting, does (the work).
This abhang is Tukaram's lamp-storehouse-and-vacana-itself-works-while-sitting register — one of the most-mature attained-bhakta statements. Compare 0824 shop-set-up-Tuka-shopkeeper-vāṇī-shows-by-price; same mature-shopkeeper-tone but here organized around lamp and vacana-while-sitting. The vacana ci karī baisōniyām (vacana itself works while-sitting) is the precise mature-rest-and-vacana-works claim*.
