Honest, clean living is itself true worship and needs no wealth, and even the felt distance from what you long for is where nearness begins to take root.
The verse
शुद्ध चर्या हें चि संताचें पूजन । लागत चि धन नाहीं वत्ति ॥१॥ सगुणाचे सोई सगुण विश्रांती । आपण चि येती चोजवीत ॥ध्रु.॥ कीर्तनीं चि वोळे कृपेचा वोरस । दुरीपणें वास संनिधता ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे वर्म सांगतों सवंगें । मन लावा लागें स्वहिताच्या ॥३॥

Śuddha caryā — this — santa — pūjana — dhana — not — needed — vatti. Saguṇa — sōī — saguṇa — viśrānti — themselves — come — cōjavīta. Kīrtana — pours — kṛpā — vōrasa — durī-paṇa — vāsa — samnidhatā. Tuka says: varma — telling — savangē — mana — apply — lāga — sva-hita.

For someone today
You do not need money or elaborate ritual to honor the sacred; living with clean, honest conduct is itself the truest form of worship. When you sing or gather in devotion, grace flows freely, and even the ache of feeling far from what you long for is, paradoxically, where closeness begins to take root. Tukaram says he is handing you this wisdom cheaply, without secrecy or cost, so the only real work left is to simply turn your attention toward what actually benefits you.
