The saints are sustained by love itself, day and night, treating compassion as their stance and the present moment of practice as their true wealth.
The verse
हीं च त्यांचीं पंचभूतें । जीवन भातें प्रेमाचें ॥१॥ कळवळा धरिला संतीं । ते निगुती कैवाड ॥ध्रु.॥ हा च काळ वर्तमान । साधन ही संपत्ती ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे दिवसरातीं । हें चि खाती अन्न ते ॥३॥
Literal translation
These — their — pañca-bhūta. Jīvana-bhāta — prēma. Kaḷavaḷā — dharilā — santa — niguti — kaivāḍa. Kāḷa — vartamāna — sādhana-sampatti. Tuka says: divasa-rātī — khātī — anna.

For someone today
For the saints, love itself has become their body and their nourishment, and even their compassionate concern for the suffering of others is simply how they stand in the world. They treat the present moment as their true wealth, with spiritual practice itself being enough. Tukaram says they live on love the way the rest of us live on food, feeding on it day and night.
